At 7:56 at Brussels Airport flowers were laid at the commemorative plaque in the terminal in the presence of Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel and the victims and their families. There was a minute of silence at 07:58, time of the explosion of the first bomb.
The guests then moved to the Memorial Garden, the site of the statue “Flight in Mind”, where the laying of flowers took place at 08:50 by Brussels Airport CEO Arnaud Feist, Chairman of the Executive Board of Brussels Airport Marc Descheemaecker and the airport partners. Shortly before 11.00 delegations of the emergency services, military and police services stood in honour of the victims and their families.
