Brussels South Charleroi Airport records an 8% rise in the number of passengers in April

Passenger traffic saw further growth in April 2018 at Brussels South Charleroi Airport. The number of people using BSCA went up by 8% compared with the same month in 2017. 743,254 passengers crossed the tarmac at Brussels South Charleroi Airport in April 2018, versus 688,336 over the same period last year. On some days, almost 30,000 passengers passed through the airport, and occupancy rates exceeded 90%, a rise of 1% compared with April 2017.

In April 2018, Spain knocked Italy off the number one spot in the list of most attractive destinations to/from Brussels South Charleroi Airport. They were followed by France and Morocco. Lastly, Romania has been replaced in the top 5 by Poland, demonstrating the increasing interest in Central and Eastern European countries.

The airport’s management team is delighted with these results. Jean-Jacques CLOQUET, CEO of Brussels South Charleroi Airport, explains: “April 2018 was a good month for our airport. Passengers were keen to head off to the appealing destinations available from Brussels South Charleroi Airport during the Spring holidays.
