A passenger on a Ryanair flight on 1 January between London Stansted and Malaga couldn’t wait any longer to see the Costa Del Sol. After the Boeing 737 (EI-FTF) was parked he, and the other passengers, needed to wait half an hour before disembarkation. The 57-year old Polish citizen couldn’t wait that long and opened the right hand overwing exit, went to the back of the wing but was prevented by ground staff from jumping off.

Fernando del Valle, a native of Malaga was able to film the incident and since then the movie has gone viral on Facebook. Fernando explains the situation: “We left London Stansted with a delay of around one hour, and we had to wait another half an hour after landing, the 57-year old Polish citizen opened the emergency exit and walked to the end of the wing, after the ground staff stopped him the passenger sat on the wing for a while. Until the crew put him aside.

The passenger was then questioned by the captain and was briefly arrested by the Guardia Civil for breaking the Act of Air Safety 21/2003 (interfering with the operation of an aircraft). The passenger can expect a hefty fine.
