Today saw Brussels Airport passing the 23 million passenger mark since 1 January 2015, a new all-time passenger record for the airport. Exactly who the 23 millionth passenger is, is difficult to pinpoint. Which is why Brussels Airport today treated all passengers to Belgian chocolates.

Brussels Airport is in a festive mood: just before Christmas the airport gets to welcome its 23 millionth passenger of the year. To celebrate this new record, CEO Arnaud Feist went out treating passengers to Belgian chocolates.

We would like to say thank you to all passengers for deciding on Brussels Airport to jet off on holiday or for business travel. Over the last five years, we have heavily invested to further enhance the quality of our infrastructure and service at the airport in order to create a highly comfortable and efficient environment for our passengers. It is nice to see that these investments are also relished by the passengers”, Feist goes on to add.

Courtesy of the continuous investment programme of recent years, Brussels Airport Company brought quite a few major projects to fruition in 2015, which have changed the airport’s visual aspect and the services it provides. These have included the inauguration of Connector, the new building for VIP guests, the 4,000 new seats, the new play areas for children and the centralised operational services at APOC.

In the years ahead, Brussels Airport will continue to invest to raise the quality of the airport to an even higher level. To this end, the airport works closely with all partners and businesses operating at the airport.

It is due to the commitment and dedication of all 20,000 airport employees that we are having another record year which places us at the top of the European leaderboard. Which is why I would like to thank each and every one of them for the enthusiasm and professionalism they put in every single day”, Feist went on to say.
