Berlin – Passenger growth continues: 24 million

In October, 2,682,234 passengers took off and landed at the Berlin airports Schönefeld and Tegel; 6.5 per cent more than in the same period the previous year. In the same month, 718,907 passengers (+9.7 per cent) were recorded in Schönefeld and 1,963,327 passengers (+5.4 per cent) in Tegel.

The total number of flight movements in October rose by 5.1 per cent on the year to 23,229 take-offs and landings. The number of flight movements in Schönefeld rose to 6,532 – 7.4 per cent more than in the previous year – while the number of flight movements in Tegel also increased by 4.3 per cent compared to the previous year. A total of 16,697 flight movements were recorded in Tegel in October.

Between January and October, a total of 23,721,563 passengers used the airports Schönefeld and Tegel – 6.2 per cent more than in the same period the previous year.

In the first ten months of the year, 6,148,827 passengers were recorded in Schönefeld; 7.7 per cent more than in the same period the previous year. At the same time, 17,572,736 passengers were handled at Tegel Airport; 5.7 per cent more than in the same period the previous year.

The total number of flight movements between January and October was up 5.4 per cent on the year at 213,423 take-offs and landings. The number of flight movements in Schönefeld rose to 59,316 – 7.7 per cent more than in the previous year – while the number of flight movements in Tegel increased by 4.6 per cent compared to the previous year. A total of 154,107 flight movements were recorded in Tegel between January and October.

Schönefeld and Tegel Airport recorded 3,854 tonnes of air freight in October; 5.4 per cent more than in the same period the previous year.
