Air Malta flight from Rome to Malta delayed by security threat

Air Malta’s flight KM 613 (Airbus A320 registered 9H-AEI, retro livery) en route from Rome to Malta airport is being delayed due to extra security checks after a threat was received regarding this flight by Italian Police.

Passengers on KM612/613 and their luggage are currently being checked.

Air Malta will be keeping passengers and the media updated with any relevant developments.

Air Malta gives utmost importance to the safety and well-being of its clients and staff and is sparing no effort to minimise the inconvenience to passengers due to circumstances beyond its control.

The airline did not disclose what kind of threats was received.

Eventually, the plane was cleared by the Fiumicino airport authorities and took off with a delay of 5 hours.
