TAP carried 4.9 million passengers on all its routes this year so far, which is 100,000 passengers more than the same period last year.

The strong growth in the number of TAP passengers in April and May allowed it to recover from the decline in traffic recorded in the first quarter of the year. This was mainly due to the fact that the Easter week, which is one of the peak periods of annual traffic, was in the first quarter of the year in 2018, while in 2019 it was fully in April, the year’s second quarter.

This result keeps TAP on its upwards path, which will now be reinforced with the opening of new routes, to Dublin, Tel Aviv and Basel at the end of March, to Chicago, San Francisco, Washington, Naples and Tenerife in June, from Lisbon to Conakry and from Porto to Brussels in July and, in October, from Porto to Lyon and Munich and from Lisbon to Banjul.
