Ostend-Bruges Airport, together with TUI and TUIfly Belgium, which are the only tour operator and airline operating passenger flights from Ostend, officially opened a second departure hall.

“Hall B” has an area of 479 square metres and has 206 extra seats for departing passengers, who can charge electronic devices and also eat and drink something there. But the absolute eye-catcher of Hall B (and a first for a Belgian airport) is the separate “Junior Club” where children can fully enjoy themselves with toys, books, films and a PlayStation while waiting for a flight.

The current departure hall will remain available for passengers without children.

Holiday starts from the departure of the trip. We wanted to do something extra for our customers, half of them consisting of families with children in Ostend. The moment just before they take off now becomes a part, thanks to the new hall,” says TUI General Manager Dirk Van Holsbeke.

The opening of Hall B, in the presence of, among others, Flemish Minister for Tourism Ben Weyts, Mayor of Ostend Johan Vande Lanotte, Secretary of State Bart Tommelein, CEO of Ostend Airport Marcel Buelens and many travel agents, was completely dominated by kids.
