COLOGNE/BONN – Eurowings is currently advertising more than 1,000 jobs: 300 for pilots, 500 for cabin crew and more than 200 jobs for ground staff. Compared to the first wave of advertisements a few weeks ago, this is an increase of more than 60 percent with the number of jobs advertised for the cockpit alone having risen by 50 percent. According to Jörg Beissel, Eurowings Executive Director and Head of HR, “The run for our vacancies is huge. We’ve already received 1,500 applications.

Eurowings is offering all applicants German employment contracts with fair, competitive salaries and ancillary benefits such as holiday pay, sick pay, attractive conditions for staff travel on short and long-haul routes and much more. Applicants’ relevant previous experience will be taken into account in any case. Beissel said, “In addition to this, all applicants will have good career prospects at Europe’s fastest growing airline.

There is a shortened selection process for crews of Air Berlin, “for good reasons” according to Michael Knitter, Eurowings Executive Director and Head of Operations. “Active Air Berlin crews are regarded as qualified applicants for jobs in flight operations of the Eurowings Group due to the high level of safety, acknowledged good quality of basic and advanced training for cockpit and cabin crew that exists at Air Berlin.” Knitter also stressed, “Applicants from other airlines are equally welcome to apply to us.”

A large-scale recruitment campaign for cockpit, cabin and ground staff is also being launched today on social media. Here, Eurowings is mainly advertising on its Twitter channel and Facebook. The Eurowings team is anticipating another rash of applications. Beissel, “We’re offering applicants future-proof jobs within a company that is developing dynamically.”
