SOLUTION FOR THE THOMAS COOK VACATIONERS WHOSE TRIP HAS BEEN CANCELLED: TUI DEDUCES AMOUNTS ALREADY PAID IN CASE OF RESERVATION OF A NEW TRIP
Customers concerned about their holiday with Thomas Cook Belgium SA/NV having been cancelled can now easily book a new trip. A large number of those travellers want to go on vacation, which is why TUI facilitates the recovery from the Travel Guarantee Fund and offers the possibility to book a new trip with immediate deduction of the amounts already paid.
Anyone who books a trip with an authorised tour operator can count on the Travel Guarantee Fund in the event of financial insolvency of the tour operator. Thomas Cook Belgium SA/NV customers concerned are entitled to reimbursement of their journey. However, this procedure is time-consuming and holidaymakers want to be quickly sure they can leave.
To remedy this situation, TUI offers a simple solution: the traveller concerned can immediately book a new holiday with a TUI shop with immediate deduction of the amounts directly paid to Thomas Cook.
On the basis of a power of attorney and the complete file of the customer, TUI is entirely responsible for the administrative management of the recovery from the Fonds de Garantie Voyages/Garantiefonds Reizen. The advantage for the traveller is threefold: no paperwork, no waiting time for reimbursement and no double temporary financing of his vacation.
If the new departure date falls at least 45 days after the booking date, the procedure can also be done online.
