European airlines that are in financial trouble in one chart

Bernstein analysts have created a handy chart that shows which European airlines look particularly troubled — and which ones are doing just fine.

Overall it has been a tough year for European airlines: the massive Ryanair cancellations but also three bankruptcies: Air Berlin, Alitalia and Monarch Airlines.

Looking at the analysis, I was surprised to see these four potential candidates for bankruptcy: Finnair, FlyBe, Aegean Airlines and Air Europa. Analysts have put three airlines from Turkey in the “trouble zone”: Turkish Airlines, SunExpress and Pegasus.

On the other side, Ryanair remains the most profitable airline, followed by Wizz Air, the Lufthansa Group, IAG Group, SAS, easyJet, Icelandair, Jet2.com and TAP Air Portugal. Have a look at the chart, please leave a reply below this article.
