In recent months, a significant growth in leisure flights was noted: destinations such as Turkey, Egypt and Tunisia have gained in popularity again.

This growth comes predominantly from Brussels Airlines short- and long-haul flights (Brussels Airlines’ market share at its hub has risen to 38.4% in November) and from Ryanair. Long-haul traffic to and from Brussels Airport has also shown a positive development since 2015, with the addition of Brussels Airlines flights to Toronto and Mumbai, the return of Delta Air Lines from Atlanta and ANA to TokyoQeshm Air launched a weekly flight to Tehran at the end of June, and Rwandair launched a flight from Kigali three times a week in July. As of this winter season, the intercontinental network was further expanded with three Hainan flights a week to Shanghai and a twice-daily Emirates flight to Dubai.
