The Austrian holiday airline Niki will no longer be part of the Oneworld airline alliance with effect from 27 October 2017. Due to the insolvency of the mother group airberlin.

Niki was never a full member of Oneworld, but a so – called “affiliated member” through Air Berlin.

Effective October 27, 2017, Topbonus Frequent Flyer tickets will no longer be recognized by any Oneworld member, regardless of their status. This means in concrete terms that the remaining members of the airline alliance are not granted access to the lounge, the redeeming or collecting of miles or other frequent flyer fees.

Oneworld, however, offers the possibility of transferring the current oneworld status, which is included in the Topbonus program, via members British Airways, Finnair, Iberia and Royal Jordanian. This applies, however, only to the pure status and not to any miles.
