Between the Alps and the Adriatic
Lufthansa’s daughter company, Eurowings, will be continuing to connect Berlin Tegel to Klagenfurt in this year’s winter flight plan. The airline will now fly to the Carinthian airport once a week on Sundays. Klagenfurt on Wörthersee is particularly impressive in the colder months. The lakeside promenade invites visitors to take long walks with its view of the surrounding snow-capped mountain landscape. Numerous Christmas markets surrounding the lake, which can be visited with the advent cruise, have already opened. In Klagenfurt, the Christkindlmarkt between the Renaissance town centre and Wörthersee entices visitors with its hot drinks and Carinthian delicacies.
Starting gates for winter sport enthusiasts
Skiers and snowboarders in the numbers are sure to get their money’s worth in the winter sport and holiday region of Carinthia. Around 60 km away from Klagenfurt airport lies the World Cup venue of Bad Kleinkirchheim/St. Oswald, ranking amongst the absolute top winter sports destinations in Austria with more than 100 kilometres of slopes.
