They must be suffering from the 737 fiasco as they are reportedly soon going to shrink their fleet (old planes leaving, new ones not arriving), so they have to cut somewhere.
The arrival of transavia probably will not have convinced them positively about the medium term prospects of improvements either.
What it does confirm once more though, despite it being denied several times overhere, is just how weak BRU only performs for them. Logic dictates you pull capacity on the worst perfoming places first, hence a 25% capacity cut at BRU.
Re: Ryanair (Holdings) in 2020
It's not shure they gone cut capacity in Brussels it's possible they will do like in Faro and fly from other airports.
Hasta la victoria siempre.
Re: Ryanair (Holdings) in 2020
It’s not because one based airplane is pulled that capacity is cut. The flights can be operated from other bases, so it doesn’t say anything about the “weakness” of BRUInquirer wrote: ↑07 Jan 2020, 08:37Well, not really.brusselsairlinesfan wrote: ↑06 Jan 2020, 23:51Surprising !nordikcam wrote: ↑06 Jan 2020, 21:10 Ryanair cuts fleet by Zaventem by a quarter: job threats

Szczecin Goleniów - Kraków Balice route reaches 50,000 passengers.
Ryanair has warned pilots of possible base closures and job cuts as the date for delivery of its first 10 of Boeing’s grounded 737 MAX aircraft slipped into the autumn. In a memo dated Jan. 27, the low-cost airline said Boeing would not deliver the first aircraft until September or October at the earliest, as Ryanair does not take deliveries during its peak summer months of June, July and August.

Re: Ryanair (Holdings) in 2020
Raphael Meulders explains in La Libre Belgique that Ryanair will ask its pilots to work part-time at 10 bases (including Charleroi) during the peak of the summer season because the number of planes decreased from 455 to 360 due to the "non-delivery of the 737 MAX", but also due to the transfer of aircraft from the main company Ryanair DAC to the three other subsidiaries of the holding where work conditions are less advantageous (read 'cheaper'). In other words, Ryanair is adapting to Western social conditions by transferring work to subsidiaries in countries where social protection is less advanced. This is called social dumping!sn26567 wrote: ↑03 Feb 2020, 19:03 Buzz increased its fleet to 32 B737s and expanded outside Poland with new bases in Prague and Budapest.
