More a restart : they are reinstating flights between CRL and SCV, they tried last year already.

Ryanair has concluded its negotiations with CRL until 2028.

Seems WizzAir has done something also.

Congrats to CRL with the new connection and airline, even if it is only for the summer period.
And it makes me even more wonder why is it so silent in BRU regarding new routes or re-opening old routes? With maybe an exception from the Air Belgium connections to CPT/JNB and HiSky to OTP. What about the relaunch of eg ATL as asked in another topic? Hopefully we get soon some positive news out of BRU, like we got here from CRL.

Now you have to pay at CRL to go to the toilet...
What's next... pay to breath?

When airport taxes are only €6 per passenger compared to €28 at Brussels Airport, they have to find other sources of revenue. BRU can easily toilet cleaning in its airport taxes, CRL just cannot with their meagre taxes.

And Ryanair might certainly take that as an example for introducing a similar charge onboard its planes...

Do you really believe that the 6 euro airport taxes are transferred by Ryanair, Wizzair and others to the airport?
Dream on....

That money doesn't go to the airline but to the Airport!
I don't understand what you try to say?

But of course! And what a nice welcome to Belgium for our visitors!

Oh well... it fits well with the rest of the immaculate CRL experience...

It is not decent to charge for the toilets. But if they
Really insist to do that, they must also install a machine that
Accepts cash. So if one’s card isn’t working for whatever
Reason.. people will start peeing in public spaces.
Not every traveler possesses a bank card. Think of teenagers or Kids travelling alone .. UM or young teenagers for instance.. just one example. Just a stupid policy made by stupid people. Really.. or if someone s card ran out of credit or exceeded their credit limit.. one can’t pee?

It's a shame and a ridiculous new charge.

It seems that only payment by card is accepted. That's illegal. There is a Recommendation from the European Union (2010/191/EU) that cash (banknotes and coins) must be accepted, unless both parties have agreed otherwise:
...
Where a payment obligation exists, the legal tender of euro banknotes and coins should imply:
(a)
Mandatory acceptance:
The creditor of a payment obligation cannot refuse euro banknotes and coins unless the parties have agreed on other means of payment.
...

Full text EU Recommendation / Aanbeveling 2010/191/EU:
https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content ... 32010H0191

How both parties can agree otherwise on this matter? I don't know. But the brilliant minds who came up with this charge, must be able to do so.
