World2fly will have three planes to fly to Punta Cana, Cancun and Havana. Montenegro’s government plans to establish ToMontenegro as its flag carrier by February 2021, with operations beginning by year-end. The new carrier will take over one of the existing E195s, with the intention of acquiring the remaining two pending talks with lessors. Flyr plans to launch its first flight in the 2Q 2021 with B737-800, and will be fully funded with US$70 million from private investors. During the initial phase, the company will service the larger Norwegian cities and popular destinations in Europe. In the longer term, the airline plans a fleet of 28-30 aircraft.
If successful, it could be the last nail in Norwegian's coffin!
Vietravel Airlines is scheduled to make its maiden flight on 25 January 2021, from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Da Nang, and Hue. The two existing A321s will be joined by a third one in the coming days.

AMCON to float international airline with Arik, Aero planes
The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria has reached an advanced stage towards launching a multibillion naira airline by pooling together its aviation assets especially planes in debt-ridden Arik Air and Aerocontactors Airlines, findings by Sunday PUNCH have revealed.
The new international airline, to be named Nigeria Eagle, may take to the sky with at least 10 planes as early as June, according to insiders who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to speak on the matter.
AMCON is expected to make an official statement on the deal very soon.

Arik Air, an airline with big ambitions, launched in the mid-2000s to fill the gap left by Nigeria Airways. She wanted to be the big airline of the country ahead of Virgin Nigeria or Belleview. She had ordered 777-300ERs eventually replaced by 747-8Is which were eventually replaced by 787-9s. 787-9 still not delivered. Finally, she used the A340-500 and A330-200 for hire. On the medium haul, a good t fleet with CRJ, Q400 and 737NG (there is also an order for 737Max).
A good network with Lagos as the major hub in the region and a major hub in Africa. Dubai, New York, London, Johannesburg on the long haul and Central and West Africa on the medium and short haul
But unfortunately things did not go well. The airline quickly fell into the red mainly due to the same problems that hit Africa (corruption, mismanagement, ....), Nigeria is probably the biggest market in Africa. There is also significant competition from Africa (Kenya Airways, Ethiopian, Asky, RwandAir, Royal Air Maroc), Europe (Air France, Turkish Airlines, British Airways, KLM, Lufthansa), USA (Delta Airlines) and even from Nigeria with the arrivals of Air Peace or Azman Air.
The airline has stopped the long haul. The state has taken over, but that hasn't changed much. It is clear that to save Arik Air, the merger with another airline remains one of the last solutions.

Ecuatoriana Airlines plans to start scheduled domestic operations by July 2021, pending issuance of AOC and other certifications.
ToMontenegro plans to launch LCC operations before 01 April 2021 should it is able to take over commercial agreements, staff and aircraft from the former flag carrier. LitorAli Airlines of Italy plans to launch operations in March 2021 with a fleet of L410 aircraft flying from Brindisi to Naples and Tirana. In the coming months‚ four ATRs will join the fleet.
Regionair founders still believe in the viability of their project, which is based in Quebec. The project is still moving forward, however, no timeline was disclosed.

Green Airlines now plans to start operating on 26 March 2021, with the first flights taking off from Paderborn to Westerland and Sylt.

Forli used to be quite popular as a gateway into Rimini and Emilia-Romagna, even had a link to Brussels Airport for a while in 2009 with a company called Wind Jet. They operated the route with Airbus A319 twice a week, but they sadly didn't last long. The route was stopped less than a year after and the airline went bust in 2012. According to Wikipedia, the airport in Forli was closed since 2013 due to bankruptcy of the operator, but a new operator was "expected to reopen it in the Winter of 2020". Air Dolomiti and EGO Airways are listed as operating into Forli from March 2021.

Moov Airways plans to launch in winter 2022, establishing secondary points in Europe and serving European markets nonstop, before eventually serving long-haul in 2023 potentially with the A321XLR. In the meantime, the startup will look at a fleet of turboprops flying low-cost to about 19 destinations in Europe. Funding is still pending.
