Re: Brucargo 2019: cargo routes & news
Heard Qatar Cargo will change to B777F all the way. A330F will go. Probably as from March on.
Re: Brucargo 2019: cargo routes & news
As announced already earlier I think, Sichuan Airlines Cargo will start cargo flights to Brussels Airport as from the end of April with 3 flights a week with the new A330F.
In 2020 they will increase the number of flights to 6 a week.
While we see a decrease in integrator, e.g. DHL, because the volume of e-commerce is much lower then normal freight, is Sichuan Cargo a specialist in e-commerce and a diversity for the BruCargo landscape.

Let’s call things what they are: they are threatened by a lack of staffing at skeyes, not by the rather limited strikes over a month ago.

Re: Brucargo 2019: cargo routes & news
More than likely because they don't have an operational cargo plane at this moment, they have 3 A332F on order from Qatar Cargo. The first one to join did a test flight in Bahrain 4 days ago.TLspotting wrote: ↑29 Apr 2019, 17:31 Any news about Sichuan Airlines Cargo, which was supposed to fly to Brussels ?

A source states that Atlas Air will no longer operate to BRU. Their last flight would have been on May 14. Ethiopian Cargo is mentioned to take over the traffic.
It's sad to lose another 747 operator, after also Saudia completely disappeared from BRU earlier this year.

Re: Brucargo 2019: cargo routes & news
But quite understandable as the type of cargo they take is far from requiring the special load capacity offered by the B747F.Established02 wrote: ↑17 May 2019, 08:33 A source states that Atlas Air will no longer operate to BRU. And fully agree with that last comment: its a pity indeed, I prefer the B747F over a T7. (The loading system of a T7 is more prone to system faults)
Re: Brucargo 2019: cargo routes & news
One of the reasons is bcs BRU wants to get rid of old planes flying to BRU. They are still allowed of course but the fee which they have to pay is much higher bcs of emissions.Established02 wrote: ↑17 May 2019, 08:33 A source states that Atlas Air will no longer operate to BRU. So, this means that newer pax and cargo planes are much more welcome and certain types like the B747 will be bye bye. Times are changing and climate, noise level, footprint, etc etc are much more important now

Re: Brucargo 2019: cargo routes & news
Brussels Airport via spokeswoman Nathalie Pierard said Sichuan Airlines Cargo launch was delayed of a few weeks due to a delay to get slots and permit (don't tell me it is the Russian once again), also the A330F delivery was delayed.
In the following weeks they should be able to fly to Brussels, no details yet on when.

And why it was a long term client!
Thanks

They moved towards Germany if I'm not mistaken.lumumba wrote: ↑03 Jun 2019, 11:33Did Saudia leave Brussels completely?Established02 wrote: ↑17 May 2019, 08:33 A source states that Atlas Air will no longer operate to BRU. The same reason as why others have left: A combination of service levels and/or freight demand. One as a consequence off the other.
(I just can conclude that some things went south since they stopped their long standing relationship with AP in favour off Swissport. At that time they where planning on increasing flight numbers again, but that plan never materialized.)
Re: Brucargo 2019: cargo routes & news
Ok thanks for the answer, that's bad it's difficult to keep long term clients in the cargo business!flightlover wrote: ↑03 Jun 2019, 12:02They moved towards Germany if I'm not mistaken.lumumba wrote: ↑03 Jun 2019, 11:33Did Saudia leave Brussels completely?Established02 wrote: ↑17 May 2019, 08:33 A source states that Atlas Air will no longer operate to BRU. Update, but no date has been communicated yet by the Chinese airline.TLspotting wrote: ↑17 May 2019, 13:06 Brussels Airport via spokeswoman Nathalie Pierard said Sichuan Airlines Cargo launch was delayed of a few weeks due to a delay to get slots and permit (don't tell me it is the Russian once again), also the A330F delivery was delayed.
