On this way you can see how Brussels Airlines, or better saying due to the psychopath behavior of mother Lufthansa, is always too late.
Finally we will have the Boston flight back at BRU, a LCC will execute it on sharp prices. It will be even more difficult for SN to start it up.
It's Lufthansa who decide where SN will fly and with which material. While they focus on long haul for Eurowings on German soil with Belgian registered planes, an other new player will fly to Boston.

Wel extra flights are allways good... But i am not a fan. 8 hours in a 739 with a 30’’ pitch if you count all the extra’s... the price is the same than SN, DL and UA. But ok there will a market for it.Ansett wrote: ↑21 Aug 2018, 16:37 Primera Air to fly from BRU to EWR, IAD and BOS. YES !!!

I noticed that all the flights leave BRU in the early evening.

Re: BRU Summer 2019: news, new routes, airlines
Seems pretty much like the exact same passenger experience one could have on AA’s 757 a few years ago.
I flew that one to JFK. It wasn’t too bad, honestly.

Re: BRU Summer 2019: news, new routes, airlines
The timings would suggest a BRU based aircraft, however it could be part of a W pattern from STN, eg STN-EWR-BRU-EWR-BRU-STN.
Re: BRU Summer 2019: news, new routes, airlines
But I'm sure you had more than a 30-in pitch on the 757.

Would have preferred SN to fly to Boston...
Re: Primera Air to launch three U.S. routes from Brussels in 2019
The flights are indeed, late afternoon, or evening flights. This create an important big evening wave in long haul flights besides Dubai, Tokio, Addis Abeba, Kigali.
Hopefully SN can place also a few long hauls in the evening in the future....

These are the evening flights many of us here have been suggesting for quite some time, but Carsten Spohr is deaf and blind. Does he still think many pax will go through Frankfurt on their way to Boston?

Off topic:
AA is expanding in Europe... But No BRU!

SN should have started NYC (JFK or EWR)evening flights a while ago..
Yet another lost opportunity..

Another opportunity has been missed by Norwegian: they could have pre-empted Primera's flights by launching their own flights by B787-9.

Indeed, Norwegian was looking at BRU but they didn't want to start up in the near future. They have or had BRU in the scope in a few years. But aviation is sth what is happening now, especially for LCC.
Always somebody will be the first and the others will regret it afterwards

I hope Primera's BRU-flights will be more successfull than their BHX-operations. They were short-lived: one summer season only. Let's hope their 737's will be delivered in time to start with and Primera can make it through the end of the season at Brussels.
Given Primera's product offer, frequencies and schedules, they're rather targetting the leisure traveller who is willing to pay for extra's according to his needs and preferences. This looks more of a challenge to our Icelandic friends than the established network carriers with all the benefits a traveller is willing to pay for.
I don't agree with "missed opportunities for SN". At this point, I believe SN is more in the need of a sustainable, stable and profitable long-haul network - as far as possible. Let's not forget the fleet renewal is a huge operation for SN. Also, opening a route to BOS and starting an evening rotation to NYC might not just be the best opportunities for SN.

Indeed, but Norwegian is not totally lost, the East Coast is not only JFK,EWR,BOS and IAD so they do have many opportunities left.
How about West Coast, still empty from Brussels...?
Any news for Norwegian ?
But also to create a Belgian subsidiary would have been long to receive an AOG (AB, VLM,...)

They waited to long....anyway great news.
Primera Air is also offering Premium Economy on his Airbus A321 sort of Business light.
Maybe they will offer the same service in the new 737-9.

Re: BRU Summer 2019: news, new routes, airlines
The full schedule looks like this:737MAX wrote: ↑21 Aug 2018, 17:49Btw, it seems like the plane(s) will be based in BRU?Ansett wrote: ↑21 Aug 2018, 16:37 Primera Air to fly from BRU to EWR, IAD and BOS. YES !!!

Anyone has more info about that?
PF3521 BRU BOS 1920 2135 -23-56- 7M9
PF3522 BOS BRU 2305 1200 -23-56- 7M9 (arrival next day)
PF3559 BRU IAD 1630 2020 1--4--7 7M9
PF3560 IAD BRU 2150 1130 1--4--7 7M9 (arrival next day)
PF3509 BRU EWR 1820 2100 1234567 7M9
PF3510 EWR BRU 2230 1145 1234567 7M9 (arrival next day)
This schedule requires two planes to be based in Brussels. Time will tell whether they add a third one as a back-up or if they just cancel flights in case of technical problems. I wonder if Primera is planning to have interline agreements with SN or UA for that.
Re: BRU Summer 2019: news, new routes, airlines
Hi 737MAX,737MAX wrote: ↑21 Aug 2018, 18:06 Seems like "someone" edited my previous post to something completely different from what I originally wrote.
Of course by removing the "source" of the copy/paste article Aviation24 "created" on their homepage (from USA today).
AFAIK there is no official info from Primera Air about the seat pitch in their new 737 MAX 9.
As I explained to you in a PM, I accidentally used a wrong button and I "edited" your post instead of "replying with quote". This operation was unfortunately irreversible and I apologise for my mistake.
As for the copy/paste, if you compare the article of USA Today and ours, you will notice that they are quite different.
And indeed there is no indication on the seat pitch of Primers 739. But if I refer to their current transatlantic flights operated by A321, the seat pitch is 30", or 32" or 36" if you are willing to pay (much) more.

Norwegian doesn’t need a Belgian subsidary to operate out of BRU!TLspotting wrote: ↑21 Aug 2018, 20:23

Norwegian has never looked into flying 787 out of BRU, 737 Max like Primera could have been an option though.
It won’t be BRU based aircraft, but W patterns out of STN ( 6 day trip for the crew STN-USA-BRU-USA-STN)
In general I am disappointed that most of the commentaar are negative, is this an aviation forum or a fanclub for one airline?

Re: Primera Air to launch three U.S. routes from Brussels in 2019
Well as a Belgian living in Boston that is great news... someone had to start the route and since SN didn't someone finally did... and no doubt they will do well specially with a 737... and good fares! I think Brussels was the only main European city not served from Boston... Heck Reykjavik gets 3-4 flights a day!!
Maybe now that there will be 3 airlines on BRU-IAD SN will move their plane to a different destinations... there are so many cities in the US that should get a nonstop to BRU!!
