Got this in my mail this morning :

IF IT AIN'T BOEING, I'M NOT GOING.

Will the UAE be a new winter brochure destination of Pegase maybe? ;)
Whereas Belgium is probably the last country in Europe where tour operators arent offering the UAE yet, I can't say a trip on a 737 with a technical stop in Cyprus is a very tempting prospect for Pegase customers: they'd better make a deal with Etihad to book them on one of their daily non-stop flights to AUH: seems like no lessons have been learnt from the BKK fiasco.

ras el khaimah is a brilliant idea!! A wonderful area in the UAE, very different from Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. Very nice resorts.

Pegase (Thomas Cook) is offering UAE already with the choice of EY flight BRU-AUH or EK CDG-DXB.

OR the UAE drops their hotelprices and it will be finally the next spain,turkey,..
OR the route is doomed to fail..
If you can pay that much for a holday in the UAE you will take a direct flight with Ethihad or EK from DUS or AMS,.. or prefer a non technical stop in ZRH,FRA,.. guess Belgium is too small for adding this route
OR economy will finally have a booming pulse in the next season

But I guess just one is the right here..
Hoping I'm wrong...

CXB

Maybe UAE will be another technical stop for FIH ,.. lol
New types flown 2022.. A339

I don't really get the idea of a technical stop at PFO... operational wise that is a place you'll want to avoid.

Hotels and resorts in the ras el khaimah - khorfakan area are at least half price
Of hotels and resorts in Dubai, beaches at the RAK are even nicer.. And major resorts
By the beach... Meridien, rotana.. Mst hotels offer fre shuttle to Dubai every day
Road trip of about 2 hrs... RAK area is a real cheaper alternative to Dubai..

Congratulations Jetair and Jetairfly. The first Belgian airline who will fly to the UAE.

It's a good move. A lot of Belgians will take some sun and warmth during Autumn and Winter. Instead of Spain or other country they can take this new area at a good price.

And Belgian's can still afford those things. See how much is on their savings! Better to spend it nowadays.

Jetairfly will still grow. With new airplanes arriving, they can offer more and new destinations. Nice to see this development.

EK will come for sure, but mainly to serve the BRU-Asia market, not the touristic sector in other emirates than Dubai, wich is the main goal of JAF. JAF wants to offer a cheaper alternative for the expensive Dubai-tourism.

We're making a mistake in this debate... JAFs passengers are not the EK nor EY passengers!
They are the ones who don't really mind to sit 10h in a plane as long as they have their wonderful holiday in the UAE. (Most of) These people do not know anything about aviation or the luxury on board the bigger middle-eastern airliners.

It's another smart move by jetairfly and they're not the only ones making it... Arkefly has Mombasa on the 737-800, Transavia has Dubai.

but still my question... why did they choose PFO for the technical stop?

Why JAF is not flying the route directly, a 738 can do it no? If Gambia Bird manage to do LGW-BJL on A319, Thomson MAN-SID on 737, JAF can do it no?

They mighy be able to do it directly, but there are 2 reasons I can see why they are not doing so: there might be performance restrictions on the flight (unable to take a full payload) and it's probably cheaper to overnight the crew in PFO then in UAE.
