Sending an A380 featuring Arsenal players to Manchester? This looks like a provocation, Emirates!

On the United Airlines Chicago-Brussels flight 2 days ago (8th of January) the flight attendants came across something extraordinary.

A passenger was in labor and the crew came to the rescue. The flights attendants helped delivering a baby crossing the Atlantic Ocean. The flight continued to Brussels as the delivery of the baby boy was successful. Upon arrival paramedics met the mother and her baby but both were “healthy and doing just fine”. The baby will get the name of the captain, the happy mother announced in the hospital.

There were a lot of comments about Brussels Airport and the huge delays with the de-icing.

Maybe Brussels Airport can copy-paste de-icing, TK-style 2017?

I've seen deicing like that once on an FR aircraft while stuck down in Montpellier with no de-icing fluid available. Aircraft was in the sun and snow became loose on the surface. It could easily be removed with a broom so that's what engineering did. Better then remaining stuck i'd say?

I've heard that a de-icing truck has hit the plane somewhere along the wings. Must be a tough insurance case...

I saw the video a few days ago, and I really don't consider it anything special. The beacon light on the 787 is indeed remarkable, it lights up a lot brighter, and burns a quite a bit longer per "flash" than the conventional beacon lights.
If this was the first time the ATCO was handling the 787, he may have never noticed it before.
Besides, not all ATCOs, not even most of them, come anything close to being an avgeek.

Better safe than sorry. It didn't cost him anything to ask about it, and the pilot happily replied.

which clearly shows every now and again...and I've always found this a pity...

Belgium and the Netherlands (and probably a lot of other countries) have issued a travel warning for the Gambia = a negative travel advice. Reason: political unrest after the president has lost the elections, with rumours of a forthcoming military intervention by some other African countries (like Nigeria).

TUI/Jetairfly has added a flight to Banjul on Tuesday to repatriate their clients (source: GVA.be).

The travel warning forbits Belgian touroperators to send (new) tourists to the Gambia. For the clients who are in the Gambia now, it's different. They cannot be forced to return with that extra flight, but when they don't use that repat flight, their return will be at own expenses.
