Etihad Summer Timetable: No BRU.

Post by teach »

Etihad have published their summer timetable (March - October) on their website, and the rumored service to toronto via Brussels is nowhere to be seen...

It's been quiet on that rumor for a while now, so is it still planned?

Poor teach, now I fear for you too. ....

New Destinations are indeed indicated as follows: Image.
And that are Dammam (DMM 3/7 days 2, 4, 6) and Riyadh (RUH - 3/7 days 2, 5 , 7) both in KSA (Al Mamlakah al Arabiyah as Suudiyah)

AUH-RUH (RUH/OERK)bis a flight of +- 800km (compare to BRU-CPH) Riyadh Airport, Saudi Arabia.
AUH-DMM (OED/OEDF) is +- 520km (just past a BRU-HAM) Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

And indeed, Summer schedules should be filed by now. Published is another thing.

How late is later? It was initially promised for the summer season. I hope it is not the Australian summer!

With all due respect, but what exactly was the point of your first post here?

In this week's Travel Magazine newsletter, they've published this advert:

Etihad Airways is the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, based in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi. Etihad Airways sets out to be a creative and innovative airline designed to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world. Our whole philosophy is built around the needs of our guests.

As we expand our network world-wide, we are looking for highly committed individuals for our Belgian team in Brussels: Sales Manager / Sales Executives / Sales Support Agent / Sales and Ticketing Agents / Airport Manager / Duty Manager/ Customer Service Agents.

We are looking for experienced individuals in the position applied for. Being fluent in French, Dutch and English is vital as well as a cross-cultural awareness. Skills on Amadeus will be appreciated.

all very nice, but the website of Etihad doesn't mention brussels at all, not in destinations, not in shedule, not in news.

keep dreaming

The announcement in Travel Magazine is a paid advert, not a free publication.

Hopefully this is good news for BRU, EY has received permission from the Canadian government to begin selling tickets YYZ-AUH, while their license application is still being processed. Details can be found here:

Latest rumors are saying the new service could begin in June 05.

I am surprised to see that none of the anxious forum members noticed the Etihad Airways press release of April 7 2005, regarding the new Frankfurt service, which also contains the first official confirmation of the upcoming Brussels, Johannesburg and Toronto operations.

Wait and see.
It took some time to organise a new route. Maybe for the winterschedule
