As most of us know, Cargo B has ceased operations a few months ago.
One B742 in at LGG, one (the tailstrike-one) is still at BRU.
The 2 brandnew B744 are re-registered to N-regs (OO-CBC became N384NC and OO-CBD became N385NY) and storage at Victorville, where I made these pictures today:
thanks for the great pictures! love it...well, somewhat sad to see them in the desert.
are those birds waiting for new operators to buy/lease them, or are they permanently stored?
and who's property are the Cargo B planes now? Boeing, a leasing company?
sad view ...
I'm not sure I understand, I would have put the -200 in the desert and the -400 in Europe for a quick lease if needed.
I'm sure some companies would be happy to have a plane like that ... the Asia-Europe market is very active
Regarding BB: it indeed is a different holding who owns the a/c's.
As far as I know, the -200's were acquired by an Irish company owned by Petercam, the private banking who adviced BB in the startup and created a fund to support them financially (Petercam was pqrtly owner of BB too I believe)
And the -400's were owned by NCA, who by means of exta investment in the company supplied the 2 aircraft instead of supplying cash money.
NCA has got it's aircraft back now, but the market is not that good to get them leased. as soon as fuel will go up, they might replace some older fuel-consuming -200's.
regards,
