Decorate an SN Brussels Airlines aircraft
Virgin Express and SN Brussels Airlines will soon fly under one and the same name. Pending the restyling of our fleet and the new logo, three of these AVRO aircraft will sport a temporary new look this summer. And you can help to define it!
HOW?
The aeroplanes will be painted completely white. Only the name SN BRUSSELS AIRLINES will appear on them. We are looking for a whimsical or original design for the tail of three of these aircraft.
CRITERIA
Simple, summery look & feel, original, whimsical design with respect for all cultural communities.
WINNERS
The 3 most fun designs will be used and will adorn the tail of one of these aircraft for at least two months.
The 3 winners will receive 10 return tickets free of charge, in Economy Class on our European network, valid between 1 April 2007 and 31 December 2007.
HOW TO ENTER
Click here for your entry form and send us your design (on white background and in electronic format) by 6 August 2006. Do not wait too long as the first selection will take place on 20 July.
Do not forget to add your full name, address, e-mail address and telephone number.
We will personally contact you if your submission is among the winners.

Rhaaaa I'm really getting old. I just wanted to report on this, and thought I would be the first! I really have to get in a better shape
Anyway, I think this is a great way to augment their brand awareness before their namechange. And it provides a very special opportunity for spotters and aviation enthusiasts! Way to go SN/Virgin
When can we expect to redesign the 737
One more thought: Will these 3 planes be BAe146? Possibly those for the new CamAir
ciao,
TriStar

I think so. There is a huge list of countries to choose from, and it would suprise me if they where all in Europe.NWA757 wrote:Are they allowing Americans to compete in this? I would love to go to Europe!

It's harder to make a 'good' one then it sounds...

I think they once said that the S-tail would be preserved. These designs arn't premanent either.b-west wrote:Hmm, the site says something about "the new logo"... so is the s-tail gonna disappear anyway?
Am currently making one celebrating the merger of the two airlines. It's quite hard indeed

I'm aware that these "summer designs" aren't the permanent livery for the new planes, but if you read the contest page on the SN site carefully you'll see:fokker_f27 wrote:I think they once said that the S-tail would be preserved. Sabena ≠ SN Brussels Airlines ≠ new merger-airlineSNam wrote:Last week somebody said to me: Look thats a plane of SABENA i recognize it because the S-tail is still on it!
So i think it won't be a good move to change the S-tail
Sabena = bankrupt = RIP
Just because of that I think it's a GOOD move to change the S-Tail.
Already two airlines wearing the S-tail logo went bankrupt in the
past years, so to foreigners who don't have an emotional bond with
Sabena and the S-tail logo like we Belgians have, the logo has a more
negative emotional value.
Sabena is history, the Belgian aviation scene should look forward.

A nice detail : the "SN" writing in the tail design is mirrored on the right side
