I think it was an engine fire.

Not an engine fire, but an engine compressor stall.

New report on The Aviation Herald:
07th January 2017: LH-2286 MUC-BRU Munich-Brussels (A319-100 D-AIBF) was descending towards BRU 25R when a strong oil smell developed on board causing eye irritations, headache, dizziness, concentration difficulties and respiratory problems... The entire crew went to a hospital for check ups... At least one flight attendant is still on sick leave one month later following the fume event...

Going through The Aviation Herald, it looks like LH had at least 3 other similar incidents (fumes causing dizziness and irritations) with its A319s in recent weeks. Is that a maintenance issue?

I imagine ORD > BRU with this UA flight and then BRU > DLA. I saw it often !sn26567 wrote: ↑12 Feb 2017, 19:09"The remainder of the flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto other flights."Passenger wrote: ↑12 Feb 2017, 18:05 United UA-972 Chicago-Brussels (B767-300ER N651UA) diverted to Shannon with an engine problem.

What can do the agents in Shannon. No flight to BRU...no connections in DUB or MAN/BHX or LHR to DLA...no flights from AMS...maybe Shannon CDG ? Or Shannon Dublin or elsewhere and then BRU / nightstop in BRU...and DLA flight tomorrow ?

Quite some aircraft are going into a holding near Brussels.
Because only runway 19 is in use for landings?

Hey everybody
i don't know if it's the correct topic for this
but why an A330 for BRU - FCO with flight number SN9903 ?
I don't find any other SN9903 in the past or in the future
Maintenance for OO-SFO perhaps ?

Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2017
It's not going to FCO but to OMAA as a ferry flight, no clue why.
Never trust a BEL99xx flight on FR24, since they are not scheduled, and are performed for operational reasons. Since all FR24 has to go on is its own historical database, those flight numbers will hardly ever show the correct routing.

Today's strong winds are taking their toll: flights from Dublin delayed (FR) or cancelled (EI), flights from Newcastle cancelled, from Amsterdam delayed or cancelled.
If you travel, especially to/from the British Isles, contact your airline!

Today's Air Berlin AB-9701 Grenoble-Brussels (D-ABNK A320-200) was a Europ Assistance 'gipsvlucht' (medical flight for ski-incident victims):
