The list of allocated spaces will be announced on Thursday. In any case, the 24 airlines without historical rights which had requested slots for next summer will be excluded. (Brussels slots are also allocated today).
Maybe a change that they can level over a flight to BRU. To start with BOS would be good.
NY would be overkill for the moment

Air India also says that it'll add 4 new international destinations over the next six months, planned across North America, Europe and South East Asia, thanks to over 30 new aircraft (6 A350, 4 B777 and 20 A320). They say this extension will still be part of the 2023 winter schedule (!).

I think we still should keep an eye on Biman Bangladesh. Besides NY via Izmir they also identified Boston, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark and Washington as their future US routes via Abu Dhabi, Amsterdam (not likely), Birmingham, Brussels, Istanbul, Manchester, New Delhi or Rome.

Time will tell

Brussels has been specifically identified as a stopover to New York, but it is not certain that they will ever get the right to fly to the US (at least and for sure, it will not happen tomorrow).

Brussels is not likely to become an Air India destination any time soon. Air India signed an agreement with a Deutsche Bahn agent to connect its Frankfurt destination to Amsterdam, Brussels and Zurich by rail.

Juneyao would be a very nice addition to have more variety, not only one Chinese carrier.

About Hainan, well that would be something. That would be their third Chinese destination from BRU. BRU is for the moment their most important European destination. By adding a third one, it could be their European hub.

Fingers crossed

Excellent news indeed. So far, if all goes well, we'll have more capacity to China than in 2019 (18 weekly in 2024 vs around 10). It'd also be nice to have Air China (also member of Star Alliance) in order to have more choice and lower fares to Beijing for example.

Not completely, they're identifed as “connecting partner”

This Model allows airlines to connect to the Star Alliance network without becoming a member of the Alliance. Passengers connecting between member airlines and a Connecting Partner under a single booking may enjoy certain comforts and privileges.

Available on connections between Thai Smile and Austrian, Lufthansa, Swiss and Thai Airways, as well as between Juneyao and several other airlines.

I remember from the past, before 2000, the China Eastern Airlines flying to BRU with their A340.

Sadly Brussels isn't part of their roadmap

They did, indeed. 1992 to 1998 or 1999. They flew SHA-BRU-MAD. At first stage with the MD11 then the A343. MU551/552 as far as I remember. ;)

Did Eastern received the rights to fly to Brussels because it doesn't appear on Airoroutes?!

Eastern has no reason to fly to Brussels knowing that authorizations are shared between several companies and are more or less rare. They will concentrate on Skyteam destinations to optimize their connection as much as possible.
Hasta la victoria siempre.
