I guess the neighbourhood won't be too happy with this massive expansion! But this design definately rules out a future third runway!

Maybe so they can use two parrallel runways at the same time. Might be necessary if they expand as much as shown in the article. My guess, based on the number of new stands is that the amount of stands available might double. It's s just that in the past few years I've seen multiple articles with possible new runway layouts.
But of course I'm not the expert here, the ones who made the expansion plan are!
