BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines
I just checked that but it gives a list of flight number, not destinations in general. To be honest i was looking for Ohrid, FYROM, it was seasonal but it doesn't appear in the booking list anymore. So i was wondering if it has to be with the bankrupt...

The Kingdom still has to develop its tourist industry (which can be done a loft faster than in a country like Belgium). However, its tourism, imho, will mainly target arab/muslim tourists (I'm not saying there is no market for that in Belgium, but perhaps the market is not significant enough). So, I would not bet on Saudia as a newcomer at BRU.
As far as Oman Air is concerned, if I correctly read between the lines, they indeed intended to fly to BRU.
However, either they found a better potential by flying to FRA and MUC, or LH convinced them to fly to FRA and MUC and code-share on LH flights to a number of destinations like BRU).
I would not exclude Oman Air to fly to BRU one day, but then either with an "en route" stop (for instance in NCE, I'm just giving Nice as a theoretical example), or they would fly nonstop to BRU and continue to (for instance) MAN, BHX, DUB (AMS ?).
In my own opinion, Brussels Airport have a great potential for expansion. But the "hesitations" around LH and SN brake expansion (about the star alliance's partners).
That's why, for me, talking with other airlines might be interesting and maybe exciting.
We all know that LH save SN in life (for the moment) to block the competition to land in BRU. It's no fairplay
A little off-topic, i have a small questions :
Why Brussels Airlines and Air New Zealand do not working together beetween BRU and Heathrow (codeshare) ?
If you would booking a flight beetween BRU and LAX (for exemple) with Air New Zealand, you need a connection in LHR Terminal 2 (Star Alliance). But the BRU-LHR is operated by Bristish Airways and no Brussels Airlines (however in the same alliance and in the same terminal in LHR). Tickets sales together on the NZ's website. See the picture for example.
Air New Zealand to axe London flights after 36 years
Air New Zealand will stop its daily Los Angeles-London service from October 2020 with the loss of 130 jobs, replacing it with a non-stop Auckland to New York flight.
The national carrier's acting chief executive officer Jeff McDowall said that while it was difficult to farewell the London route, the airline must zero in on the best opportunities for long-term profitable growth.

Not quite BRU related but a news bomb none the less. So they'll fly 3x week nonstop to NYC, I guess they'll still fly to LAX, and are pointing at SIN for transfers to London and Europe.

It's confirmed by Tuifly that Miami will be back in service as from 31 March 2020. The route will be twice a week on Tuesday and Saturday.
An other new route which they will start up is Brussels - Pula in Croatia.

Great ! I'm visiting relatives in Miami next year. So far, however, Aer Lingus seems to be cheaper than tuifly, although there's a stopover in Dublin.

You have to force it in TUI booking system but indeed they head back to Miami from 4 April 2020, 2 times per week, on Tuesday and Saturday, until 24 October 2020.
Can't book on 31 March... Do you know if at the end it restarts in early April or end March?

Small win: You get to do US immigration in Dublin, and land in Miami as a "domestic" flight.Great ! I'm visiting relatives in Miami next year. So far, however, Aer Lingus seems to be cheaper than tuifly, although there's a stopover in Dublin.
