The "journalist" from La Libre should have read my post and he would have completed his article by giving the registration of the two aircraft affected, i.e. OO-SFW, -SFF, and -SFU.sn26567 wrote: ↑10 Sep 2019, 23:06This is why Brussels Airlines has cancelled several long-haul flightsHomo Aeroportus wrote: ↑01 Sep 2019, 10:55Good guess !

The fact is not trivial. Brussels Airlines had to cancel eight long-haul flights since August 26th. Did the Belgian airline, or its shareholder Lufthansa, change the strategy for long-haul flights? Some people have asked the question.
It is not so. In fact, Brussels Airlines experienced simultaneous technical problems on two of its Airbus A330s, forcing the airline to cancel some of its flights to Africa and North America. The repairs took several days. One of the planes had to change its front landing gear while the other had to make repairs in its cargo hold.
Everything is back in order, explains Wencke Lemmes, Brussels Airlines spokesperson. As a reminder, the Belgian company uses, on average, nine long-haul aircraft per day, to Africa, Canada and the United States.

And don't ask why the article is illustrated with an A319!
Not forgetting OO-SFZ that was AOG between 19AUG and 03SEP.

SN515 to IAD, to be operated by OO-SFE, is cancelled today.
Seems she is AOG in Dakar and could not operate the DSS-BJL flight yesterday afternoon.

OO-SFE, currently still in Dakar, has been planned this afternoon to operate SN467 to KGL tomorrow.
This decision, per Flightstats.com, came only half an hour after the landing of SN205 at DSS today. It seems a smart engineer with the right spares was on board and did a good job !

Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2019
I'm curious to know the reason of the go-around of OZ587/17SEP?
Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2019
Too optimistic...I'm flying to Madrid today...and the arrival flight from Dakar is canceled...and Washington is canceled. I think it's a real question: who still is flying SN on the long haul ... it's Russian roulette ...!!!Homo Aeroportus wrote: ↑17 Sep 2019, 18:09 OO-SFE, currently still in Dakar, has been planned this afternoon to operate SN467 to KGL tomorrow.

Personally I am neither optimistic nor pessimistic as this implies a prediction and for me "the future is not what it used to be".
But you are correct, the incoming SN204 didn't make it to BRU this morning.
OO-SFE did indeed take off from DSS at 2100Z yesterday as SN204, tagged by FR24 as DSS-BRU although she first flew South probably heading to BJL to perform the cancelled segment of 16SEP.
No FR24 coverage there so we can only assume that SFE has safely landed and is now sitting in Banjul.
Accordingly, the SN467 that she was to operate today will be run by OO-SFD.
On time
Have a safe trip to MAD.

Not an anomaly per se but kind of an airshow this morning on arrival to BRU.

Some of the passengers blocked in Banjul since Tuesday have bee repatriated, but some 50 passengers are still there three days later, in a bad hotel with bad meals and almost no drinks. The situation looks catastrophic.Homo Aeroportus wrote: ↑18 Sep 2019, 09:23nordikcam wrote: ↑18 Sep 2019, 08:50Too optimistic...I'm flying to Madrid today...and the arrival flight from Dakar is canceled...and Washington is canceled. How to lose long-haul passengers? Ask SN, they have the process, the method! Sadness. Three years ago (when I left for AF) I do not observe any return to normal...

And I do not see any interest in booking a flight on Montreal, with Washington because UA, this will be the first flight to be canceled since AC will be behind ... so forget Montreal!

Not only the SN A330s, but also their A320s sometimes have problems:

Today it looks it's the turn of Douala to be cancelled?!
Looks like more than 10% of the long haul flights of this summer where cancelled!(I can not prove that but it's approximately true I think)
It's time to do something ....

Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2019
We had to do something for two or three years! Nothing has been done ... and in fact it's too late. A lost passenger is not recovered ... I come back from Brussels Midi where I made my registration for tomorrow on AF long haul. The normal situation is when "10 or 15% of the flights are canceled" ... the abnormal situation is the one where all the flights leave ... and there it is worthy of an info in the TV News...

Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2019
Yep.
Was declared cancelled on Flightstats.com yesterday, as well as on BRU web site.
Sadly, this SN371 to DLA and NSI of today was to be operated by the "brand new" OO-SFP.
This is the bird that flew from Chateauroux to "Bergen op Zoom" / Woensdrecht last month.
She was back to EBBR two weeks ago but today, for her first flight, Papa didn't feel well.
OO-SFU that was unable to run Kigali yesterday is still in bad. Due to operate Freetown tomorrow.
Zulu is in DUB since monday 23SEP.
8 chicks out today.

I would like to know who is making a reservation on a SN long haul in 2019 ? No one...some are flying because they had a connecting flight...and it's an obligation ! What a pity !Homo Aeroportus wrote: ↑26 Sep 2019, 13:43Yep.

Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2019
I still do but I admit they push my loyalty to the limit.
Although I am used to always consider a what-if and look for a plan B, it is getting increasingly difficult especially for long haul flights.
Next trip is to Accra. Cannot leave earlier since I will fly back the day before my departure, but I cannot miss the first day of the congress so need to consider other SN alternatives such as via ABJ then Air Cote d'Ivoire to ACC. Or a BRU-LIS-ACC with TAP A320...
It is very sad that SN is little by little becoming another Air Maybe.

SN277 to ACC is cancelled today.
According to Flightstats.com, yesterday morning OO-SFW planned for this service was replaced by OO-SFK.
Two hours later Kilo was replaced by Lima, soon to be swapped back to Kilo before the flight was cancelled.
Indeed, yesterday OO-SFK left DUS for EWR with a delay of more than 3 hours. The return flight just landed back at DUS at 09:00LT and will not be able to operate SN277 today as once planned.
Instead OO-SFK will fly out of DUS for MIA today.
