Passengers were very very unhappy, tells Flemish tv VTM: passengers had to be at the airport at 05h00 a.m., and their delay was first announced till 13h, then till 15h, then till 19h. At a certain moment this afternoon, police had to intervene because some passengers became extremely furious against Jetairfly staff.

Those who fly with Jetairfly should be aware that Jetairfly is not a punctual airline; Jetairfly doesn't claim to be, either.

Jetairfly IS a punctual airline. Yesterday was an exception, but a heavy one.

Unfortunately, AEA doesn't publishes Punctuality Reports anymore (last one was 2009). Some other source do - but Jetairfly isn't mentionned there:

Have I announced it as "world breaking news"?

No: I've just said it's an "abnormality" - but one with a lot of negative press attention.

There's another big delay for Jetairfly today, causing a new series of negative press reports, including VTM News: this morning, a Jetairfly Charleroi-Alicante was delayed by 8 hours:

"Passengers were angry because they received little or no information" (just like yesterday at BRU)

Delays are so few and far between, at Jetairfly, that they probably have forgotten the rules. May I remind them ?
http://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/tr ... dex_en.htm

Your airline must inform you about your rights and the reason for being denied boarding, or any cancellations or long delays (over 2 hours, although this may be up to 4 hours for flights in excess of 3500 Km).

Food and board
You may also be entitled to refreshments, meals, communications (such as a free phone call), and, if necessary, overnight stay, depending on the flight distance and length of delay.

Financial compensation
In addition, if you are denied boarding, your flight is cancelled or arrives more than 3 hours late on arrival at the final destination stated on your ticket, you may be entitled to compensation of €250 - 600, depending on the distance of the flight:

Within the EU
◾1,500 km or less - €250
◾over 1,500 km - €400

Between EU airport and non-EU airport
◾1,500 km or less - €250
◾1,500 - 3,500 km - €400
◾over 3,500 km - €600

Be prepared to fight for a long time in order to get from Jetairfly the compensations you are entitled to - at the very least two months ...

Thanks

Just saw on BrusselsAirport.be:

Tuesday 17th June: JAF-2093 Brussels-Djerba: ETD 06h15 delayed till 21h00.

I hope for those passengers it's a computer input error: return flight JAF-2094 Djerba-Brussels is announced as normal arrival at 13h10 (although I have that strange feeling that this "normal arrival 13h10" could well be the computer input error...).

It was a computer error on BrusselsAirport.be:

JAF-2093 left at 06h13.
