Didn't LGG had 309,220 pax in 2012 (thus an increase of only 1.88%)?Acid-drop wrote:315 000 pax (+4%) and 561 000 tons (-2,5%) of cargo in 2013

Frankly speaking, I don't see the need to quibble about it.LJ wrote:Didn't LGG had 309,220 pax in 2012 (thus an increase of only 1.88%)?Acid-drop wrote:315 000 pax (+4%) and 561 000 tons (-2,5%) of cargo in 2013

To be precise:
2012 ---> 303 286 pax
2013 ---> 315 293 pax
Increase 3.96 %
b-t-w : as far as Cargo is concerned, LGG didn't mention 3 new cargo airlines...

All clear now
the pax difference is so low that is represents only half a day in CRL
It's less than a bus stop in a busy city ... a shame concidered the quality of the infrastructure...
Hopefully air corsica will prove business is possible there ...

No need to say that the new link of air corsica maybe have huge issues since SN announced exactly the same from BRU.
Belgium is an open war field, casulties can be expected.

Further news about the upcoming Air Corsica Ajaccio–Liege flights:
They will start effective 05APR14, with one weekly A320 (2 weekly from 06JUL14 to 06SEP14), and will be operated by a Europe Airpost Boeing 737, thus no Air Corsica livery in Liège!

Airline Route mentions "1 of 2 weekly operated by Europe Airpost Boeing 737". First you state "with one weekly A320" and then "...and will be operated by a Europe Airpost Boeing 737"... there's something wrong overthere Air Corsica operates weekly as from early april with an Airbus A320 and during the high season two weekly flights will be operated of which one by Europe Airpost. So the Air Corsica livery will be seen in LGG this summer season.sn26567 wrote:Further news about the upcoming Air Corsica Ajaccio–Liege flights:

It seems from the destination list that they will have direct competition with AV cargo.

The biggest damage is on aviapartner ostend it seems, more than 50 people could lose their job.A N A Airline Management will move its Freighter Managed Fleet of cargo aircraft from Ostend (EBOS) to Liege (EBLG) with effect from the 29th May 2014. The current fleet consists of two MD11Fs and one Boeing 747-400F operating a network of scheduled routes to and from Africa as well as long term and ad hoc charter flights on a worldwide basis.
A N A’s Freighter Managed Fleet have been operating from Ostend airport since 2007 unfortunately due to the very competitive nature of the airfreight market have been forced to look at ways to reduce costs wherever possible. The fuel price differential between the two airports is considerable and with the fuel cost element exceeding forty per cent of direct operating costs meant that there was no option but to make the move.
A N A have had a long and successful partnership with Ostend airport stretching back more than twenty years when involved with Boeing 707F and DC10-30F freighter aircraft. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the airport authority and Avia Partner in Ostend for their support and hard work over the last two decades, but unfortunately the attraction of the lower fuel prices in Liege combined with the availability of Interlining freight with other cargo carriers based at Liege, meant that the advantages were overwhelming to make the move to Liege.
A N A Airline Management in conjunction with its various airline partners including Astral Aviation, Atlas Air, Nordic Global, Allied Air and Euro Cargo offer a comprehensive route network and availability of cargo aircraft and with the anticipated move to Liege will increase both its aircraft fleet and destinations served once established at the new airport.
