CRL to America ?

Extracts :

André Antoine has his vision for the future of the two airports of Liège and Charleroi. And for BSCA (Brussels South Charleroi Airport), it's simple: the Walloon Minister in charge of airport policy favors the opening of new destinations, and it will be first to America.

"I have a new growth strategy for the two regional airports, says the Walloon Minister. Regarding Charleroi, there are currently many contacts with the Italian group Save (who bought a share of BSCA, editor's note). J I saw the leaders of Save Venice on Tuesday about it. I confirm that the objective is to launch transatlantic flights from Charleroi. We must move from a regional airport at an airport of national and, then, of international scope! "

Following the meeting with Save, André Antoine also asked the Italians to find intermediaries (that is to say, airlines, editor's note) to ensure new destinations Europe from Charleroi. I think in Berlin and Geneva in particular. Save must do this work, they have the expertise and they will go elsewhere in the capital of new airports in Europe. "

The only way Ryanair will be able to fly to America will be by pulling over for petrol in Iceland (KEF) or Canada (Gander).
Otherwise, they'd need to buy a longer range plane (B787, A330?) and having a small subfleet of any AC type isn't smart for an LCC which benefits from the economies of scale of operating a large number of aircraft of a single type.

Money makes way. Wonder how they will attract these carriers. Same MO as with FR? Or no, why not free fueling or something, thats a new one.

Is it possible that a new belgian company will start from LGG or CRL to these new destinations?
(with the experience of belgian staff, belgian cabin crew, belgian pilots etc)
Thanks for the information.

Don't they need to extend the runway first? When is that planned for? And how much could be saved on taxes by ticket flying between secondary airports? Would it really end up being "low cost"?

André Antoine didn't say that these transatlantic flights would be "low-cost".

it has to be.
The terminal may be very nice, it's still not the real flavour.
Now that could change also ...
Seems they have a lot to do there
