That Jet Airways is in difficult waters is no surprise anymore.
More specific for their operations at Brussels Airport they have the following plan:
- B777 will be replaced by A330
- BRU - BLR will be ceased
- with no first class (B777) they will also close for an unknow period their very exclusive lounge at Brussels Airport.
On the other hand they are going to strenght their partnership with Brussels Airlines to offer more European routes (UK).
I hope all the best for Jet Airways but decisions recently taken by their management was not the best solution (read: crew).

So not one single triple 7 anymore? What a shame, it is such a beautifull aircraft....
And about the lounge, do they have 2 lounges? Or will there be no place left for C-pax to go to?

UA is still serving BRU with 777-200 and CO is supposed to resume 777-200 flights to BRU as from next june.taz001 wrote:So not one single triple 7 anymore? What a shame, it is such a beautifull aircraft....

Still not as beautiful as projected here at the start of the 9W-operations at BRU. 10 daily T7 of which 8 300-versions (9W) and 2 200-versions (CO and UA).
When some long haul companies return to BRU in the future (as a part of Star Alliance) I see some more T7's come in at BRU, but only or mostly the 200-version.
Maybe, when the Dreamliner finally is being delivered, this might be the dominant plane at BRU since it looks almost tailor made for secondary international airports like BRU. Not the capacity of a T7, but certainly the range so ideal for companies willing to connect to BRU but not needing the capacity of the T7.
At this moment the A330 seems the dominant long haul airplane at BRU in both versions.

Guys,
possibly 3 to 6 Jet Airways 777's are going to THY, so maybe we'll see them again anyway

United is currently using a 777 with the full flat bed in F. This is because they are re-furbishing their fleet with the new flat bed in C and suites in F. I am waiting for the SuiteDreams which I have been told might be available by the end of next year but no one seems to know if United will continue with a 777 or switch back to a 767 like they used previouly on the UA950/UA951 BRU/IAD

Re: Jet Airways and Brussels Airport: update
The sad news coming from Mumbai tells me that more tough times are ahead for the Indian travel industry and that won't spare Jet Airways. Expect a decrease of business and certainly leisure travel in the aftermath. Of course that is nothing compared to loosing one's life to such mediocre acts. May the innocent victims rest in peace.

So, it means we won't see the 77W back at BRU for at least the next two years... What a shame.website-info wrote:further updates on Jet Airways fleet lease outs

Re: Jet Airways and Brussels Airport: update
So seeing TK will soon have 6 x B77W in her fleet, it should be an occasional visitor at BRU nonetheless.

Hi.
I was wondering if AC is still code-sharing on the Toronto route with JET?

Re: Jet Airways and Brussels Airport: update
And in that article the boss of Jet Airways dears to say that foreign airlines are not suitable investers because in general they are financially not healthy.
Looks who talking...
Don't believe him. The only reason is that the Indians don't want to give a share to foreigners . They rather starve for the moment, but want to keep all the profit for themselves when it goes upwards again.
I know very well where I talk about. I work for an Indian owned company.
It is exactly the same as with the Chinese , and even the Americans. The latter ones hide themselves behind national security reasons. But it is all about sharing the money.
How different with our open European market. If an Indian wants to buy a Belgian company , he can do it immediately without restrictions ( see Hansen Transmissions, Pauwels Trafo, Arcelor Mittal ) He can take his profit . He can close factories, move machinery, send people home.
This Indian mentality is very narrow minded . If you read the article with the boss of Airbus, that he looks into ways to help finance the purchase of new airplanes, we can be sure that companies like Jet Airways will not fit in that sheme. It must be a win-win situation, for both sides.

In this weekend's Wall Street Journal, there's an interesting article about 9W:
