Ryanair and Morocco -strategic deal

Post by beaucaire »

The kingdom has ambitious plans to increase the number of tourists by 5 million over five years.
Clever move by Ryanair to clinch this deal and freeze some new air-routes by linking their bases to all province-airports in Morocco.

There are two kinds of customers who want to fly Belgium - Morocco :

- the tourists, whose number the Moroccan government want to increase, but is not so high at present (less than for Tunisia or even for Egypt, I think).

- and the Moroccans living in Belgium who go to Morocco on holiday.
To go there by air is much faster than with a car or by coach; but they usually take a lot of heavy luggage with them, which will cost them much more, with Ryanair...

Rabat and Casablanca dont apply the incentives, intending to encourage the increase of the frequencies and I dont think that ryanair will use these expensive airports
