The CS100 is too heavy and inefficient, I've been saying this for years.
What took LX so long to figure it out?

Re: Paris Air Show 2015 (Salon International du Bourget)
There's an additional order from Philippine Airlines for 2 additional Boeing 777-300ER's through Intrepid Aviation (Leasing). It will be the 7th and 8th Boeing 777-300ER in the PAL fleet. Deliveries are expected in the last quarter of 2016 and the first half of 2017. An announcement will also be made soon for an order for A350's as a replacement for the airline's aging A340-300 fleet which have an average of 14,6 years old.

Not a single order for the A380 at le Bourget ...

IF IT AIN'T BOEING, I'M NOT GOING.
Re: Paris Air Show 2015 (Salon International du Bourget)
The last time an A380 was firmed is already more than a year ago (announced in summer 2013, firmed in February 2014), 20 for leasing company Amadeo that later declared to experience serious difficulties in securing customers for these aircraft. Since then only cancellations, notably these 6 for Skymark.airazurxtror wrote:Not a single order for the A380 at le Bourget ...

I don't think we need to expect more than maybe a handfull of new orders for the current A380. But we'll see what happens with the plans of launching a slightly longer re-engined A380.
Re: Paris Air Show 2015 (Salon International du Bourget)
John Leahy (chief customer officer at Airbus) still expects to sell 25 A380s before year end. The motto at Airbus now is that they came up with a good idea too early. With the expected growth of air travel in the coming years, airport with restricted slot numbers will need larger aircraft.
Incidentally, there was also not one single order for the CSeries, which is surprising for a brand new aircraft soo much touted by Bombardier....

I doubt that very much, only reasonably sized order I could see happening is one of Turkish Airlines.sn26567 wrote:John Leahy (chief customer officer at Airbus) still expects to sell 25 A380s before year end.
I don't know if VLA's will become more popular, but if it happens, it will not be for the current A380. A new generation maybe.sn26567 wrote:The motto at Airbus now is that they came up with a good idea too early. Also for the CSeries orders are slow and I don't expect this to change until EIS next year. However Swiss' decision to agree with being launch customer and Bombardier's announcement in Paris that the performance will be better than expected are very positive developments, but still I don't think it will be enough to convince many customers before EIS.sn26567 wrote: Incidentally, there was also not one single order for the CSeries, which is surprising for a brand new aircraft soo much touted by Bombardier....
Regarding the Aeroflot cancellation for the 787 which was mentionned above. Seems like a big thing, but it might even help Boeing in this case. This frees up some (relatively) early production slots which are very scarce and that might help securing some big orders from other customers as Boeing can give them some earlier first delivery slots.
Re: Paris Air Show 2015 (Salon International du Bourget)
There was no rush on the W-Bs though. I wonder how it was last year.RoMax wrote:

Re: Paris Air Show 2015 (Salon International du Bourget)
Based on Flightglobal's order tracker there were 275 orders/commitments for widebodies at Farnborough 2014 compared to 132 this year in Paris (55 Airbus and 77 Boeing) and that was already less than Paris 2013.convair wrote:

But contrary to these two editions, Paris 2015 was far away from a new WB type/version announcement (787-10 was launched at Paris 2013 and the A330neo at Farnborough 2014 while the 777X was announced at the Dubai Air Show in November 2013 and also collected a large order/commitment from QR at Farnborough). The A380 and 748 are not popular for new orders (although Volga Dnepr committed to 20 748F's in Paris this year) and the A350 and 787 both have the same problem of not having enough early delivery slots for many carriers that don't want to commit for big orders too far in the future.

Logical explanation. Thanks RoMax.RoMax wrote:Based on Flightglobal's order tracker there were 275 orders/commitments for widebodies at Farnborough 2014 compared to 132 this year in Paris (55 Airbus and 77 Boeing) and that was already less than Paris 2013.convair wrote:

Re: Paris Air Show 2015 (Salon International du Bourget)
These are not early delivery slots. The delivery was already delayed to 2019 - 2022, thus these are not early slots.RoMax wrote:Regarding the Aeroflot cancellation for the 787 which was mentionned above. Anyway, what is strange is that we still haven't heard anything about the A330R order by the Chinese. Before Paris, it was assumed that this show would be dominated by the A330. However, apart from the Saudia launch order for the A330R nothing really material happened. Moreover, the Indigo order from last October (250 A320neo) is still not firmed up and one would expect that Paris would be a nice time to do so (and it has aleady taken 2 months more to firm up than their previous order, which took 5 months to firm up).
I guess that GA doesn't have that problem with their MoUs or LoIs of 30 787s and 30 A350s. EK won't order at Paris but will do that at the Dubai show.RoMax wrote:and the A350 and 787 both have the same problem of not having enough early delivery slots for many carriers that don't want to commit for big orders too far in the future.
