Austrian Airlines to slowly phase out its B767s, with three leaving in 2021. MSN 25273 will exit by March, headed to Arizona where it will be broken down into spare parts. MSN 26417 and 27095 to follow with possible conversion to freighters.

Austrian Airlines has found a buyer for the three long-haul aircraft that were up for sale. The B767-300ERs will go to MonoCoque Diversified Interests (US). The purchase agreement has already been signed. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Austrian Airlines is studying several options to harmonise its long-haul fleet and bring it down to one type. The referenced fleet comprises three B767-300ERs and six B777-200ERs.

Austrian Airlines is ending its “Prachter” operation (passenger aircraft used as freighters). Two B777s registered OE-LPA and OE-LPC with removed passenger seats and thus increased cargo capacity formed the backbone of the cargo operation. The B767 fleet also carried out cargo-only operations.

Does it mean switching to (e.g.) B787-9 or unifying the fleet to 772-only?
