Re: BRU infrastructure: future
Such top infrastructure is indeed missing in BRU, but personally I find their lounge in Pier A is by far the best non-Senator lounge within the Lufthansa universe that I have come across: other than the fact that access is obviously not as exclusive and it is thus more frequently used, I can only t...

Re: BRU infrastructure: future
LH silver can go to the Bussiness lounge? Yes they can indeed: Frequent Travellers who are travelling in Economy Class on a scheduled flight operated by a Star Alliance airline can enjoy their stay at the airport in one of the Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa or SWISS Business Lounges or in the lounges...

Re: BRU infrastructure: future
Good to hear the lounges will be expanded, but it would be even nicer to have really separate SN Business & Senator lounges, both in the A Pier the B Pier, just as LH, LX and OS have. Are there enough Senators in Brussels to justify such separate lounges? Well, not only LH group Senators have a...

Re: BRU infrastructure: future
Finally, to accomodate all those departing passengers in the B Pier in a comfortable way, there will be an all new and much bigger lounge build in the B Pier. Meanwhile, The Loft in Pier A will be expanded too as it's a huge success amongst our passengers as well as those from partner airlines. Goo...

Well, apparently 9W has gotten traffic rights starting this winter schedule for BRU-ORD/SFO/IAD (as well as FRA, MUC & CDG). So let the speculation begin...

Re: New long-haul revolutionary configuration at B.Airlines
9 abreast configuration in business class! No comment  Very different from the LX configuration, much more squeezing involved!!! Not at all!! While on the right hand side on LX there are only single seats (contrary to SN), the 'center double seat' units on LX are much wider than the SN ones (...

Re: New long-haul revolutionary configuration at B.Airlines
For all of those of you who can't wait till they get to fly on the newly refurbished A330s of SN, there's now an interactive module on their website which allows you to explore the new cabin, both in economy and business class. Play around with the seats, the mood lights, the PTV or get a fantastic...

Re: BRU summer 2012: latest news, routes, airlines
So apart from the dropping of ACC & the cutback of DKR, the AFI network will be pretty beefed-up starting next summer; some extra frequencies, some non-stops and possibly even (a) new destination(s) And not forgetting NYC of course! To repeat a question asked by somebody else in the ot...

Re: BRU summer 2012: latest news, routes, airlines
Could it be that they will not run NYC daily from the start, it could be a sensitive move if they start with a frequency above every other day (i.e. 4 weekly minimum). I was under the impression that there would be only 6 jets available for some time while all undergo refurb one after the other. We...

Re: BRU summer 2012: latest news, routes, airlines
Another question: does the new SN S12 Africa operation schedule require the 7th A330, taking into account NYC, of course? Taking the complete schedule into account (incl. daily NYC), a quick on the back-of-an-envelope (so please correct me if I'm wrong) gives: 5 days a week 6 A330 & 2 days a we...

Re: brussels airlines to New York!
A little off-topic: why not add Montreal? With so many official/cultural links between Québec province and the french-speaking belgians! AF flies there trwice daily with big a/c and I even heard of a third one on some days! Belgians/Swiss and possibly others could then avoid that awful CDG! ;) Well...

Re: LH retiring aircraft... opportunities for SN?
For anybody thinking CAN might be an opportunity for SN: LH will cancel their flights to CAN from next summer (source: airlineroute.net). And no, I don't think there is even the slightest chance SN will take over those flights... CAN really is a Skyteam fortress.

Re: Swiss Transferring Cameroon Service to Brussels Airlines
I think Libreville would better suit SN's African network, and ACC LH's African network. I wouldn't be suprised to see this change in summer 2012. SN operates ACC 3 weekly, LH operates LBV 5 weekly but with a 738 of Privatair. Also ACC is now daily operated with a 738 of Privatair by LH. SN could o...

Re: Swiss Transferring Cameroon Service to Brussels Airlines
If the additional frequencies to DLA and NSI will keep the extra A330 busy four days a week, what will it be used for the remaining three days ? Would it make sense (or even be necessary) to keep it as a back-up plane for three days ? Just a question. Or as Mr Boeing has suggested, b.air could incr...

You may be right but if so, you have to blame the original poster for the wrong information and you only have yourself to blame for not correcting his mistakes in your first reply. My figures are 100% correct if you take the OP's numbers. Well, you could have checked the facts or source (airlinerou...

I can not tell you the number of times I've seen pax empty their 2nd or 3rd piece of handluggage at the gate, only to put on literally everything that was in there just to be able to take it with them on the flight! Crazy sight to see pax come on board with 3 shirts and 2 suits on when you're going...

Re: Swiss Transferring Cameroon Service to Brussels Airlines
For those only comparing the quality of the seats and/or the beauty of the interior, it may be a downgrading. As said by others, after the installation of the new seats (and C seats will apparently be the same as LX), it won't be a downgrade, except no F on SN aircraft. Here some comments from a Fl...

Re: SN selects LH Technik Malta for A330 base maintenance
Something I noticed is that February 2012 is mentionned as the start date for the cabin retrofit. But I tought this would already start this year (in the comming weeks/months)? I could be wrong, but IIRC, the C-check & cabin retrofit would not take place at the same time. So perhaps the A330's ...
