From the homepage, 10/01/2022:
https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/air- ... amsterdam/

KLM further expands approach for Sustainable Aviation Fuel
...
CO2-ZERO service expanded with SAF option
For individual passengers who wish to further reduce the footprint of their flight, we have expanded our CO2ZERO service with an option to purchase an additional quantity of SAF. This option will be available in addition to our existing compensation alternative to support a reforestation project with Gold Standard certification. Reforestation is a way in which CO2 emissions can be compensated outside the aviation industry. With the additional purchase of SAF, a passenger contributes to less use of fossil kerosene, and thus to a direct reduction of CO2 emissions as a result of flying. Again, KLM will use the entire amount raised to purchase SAF to boost global SAF production.
...
The Dutch Publicity Authority 'Reclame Code Commissie' objects to this KLM slogan "Be a hero, fly CO²-Zero". KLM can't proof that the reforestation indeed works to compensate all KLM's CO² emissions, the Reclame Code Commissie finds.

The decision hasn't been published yet on the Authority website.

KLM is suffering strikes and is expecting an increase of AMS operational fees by a total of 37% over the next three years.
Maybe we will see a gradual transfer of planes to AF and a slow decline of KLM.

Oh no. We have the same problem in France with La SCARA and FNAIM (French in air transport airlines associations) which protests since many years (before the covid) to the increase of charges in French airports.

In 2015, they filled a complain against France due to the llack of transparency and the arbitration process on the evolution of airport charges

https://www.scara.aero/wp-content/uploa ... e-_-EN.pdf

They protest also against the dual till regulation airports that you can find at Roissy Airport

London Heathrow, Frankfurt, London Gatwick, Munich and Paris Charles de Gaulle remain the most expensive airports in the benchmark. This is mainly due to the high passenger taxes levied in the United Kingdom, Germany and France. Copenhagen remains the cheapest airport in the benchmark.

The increase in airport charges has been explained here:
https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/air- ... -schiphol/

Actually, it's quite simple: the Dutch Consumer Authority (ACM) agrees with Schiphol Airport that the Covid-19 losses have to be paid by the airport users. If Schiphol Airport has to pay them, it's gonna be the tax payers who will suffer, as Schiphol Airport's major shareholders are the State and the City of Amsterdam:

KLM announces René de Groot will be "stepping down" as COO effective 15 July 2022. This announcement follows his "decision" to take up a position with another airline, British Airways.

Newly appointed KLM CEO Marjan Rintel wants her own people in key positions!

Chaos at Amsterdam: fed up with the huge delays and cancellations, the ombudsman from Dutch tv program Max Vakantieman (from broadcaster Omroep Max) will take some passenger cases to court. They want a judge to decide if, or is not, Schiphol Airport is responsible for the chaos at the airport.

Dick Benschop has resigned as CEO Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. Reason: ongoing chaos at the Security check, causing hundreds of passengers daily missing their flight, even when they arrive at the airport 4 hours before departure:
https://www.aviation24.be/airports/amst ... elsewhere/

Though he's resigning, Benschop announced that AMS will issue new flight restrictions today. AMS Airport will most probably ask airlines to cancel flights.

Benschop remains CEO till his successor has been appointed.

On average, 18% has to be cancelled, daily, by airlines.
Airlines are not amused, and will later reply to AMS Schiphol Airport.
