Probably something to do with the pax flights Ethiopian wants to start to BRU?

Isn't it the flight to Manston which had a stop at ostende? I don't know if it'll stay like that though.

It could indeed be a sign that Ethiopian (pax airline) might come to BRU.

They would be able to make some savings if they fly with both the cargo and the pax division to the same airport instead of choosing for to neighbour airports.

Right, Chris.

But there are other airlines that choose two different airports :

 Royal Jordanian : HHN (Freight) and FRA (Pax)

It seems tp be confirmed that as of 2005, ET Cargo will move to BRU: today in Het Nieuwsblad: Ostend Airport verliest een vijfde van vrachtverkeer: Ethiopian Airlines verhuist van Oostende naar Zaventem

The reason, according to the VRT news, is that BRU is a bigger hub and there are more possibilities to expand.

"Volgende week komt een manager van Ethiopian Airlines naar Brussel om de laatste details af te spreken".

Can we maybe expect an Ethiopian Pax a/c at BRU next week for this occasion ?

This plane is mostly flying around the Ethiopian VIP's :

It would really not surprise me if the manager from Ethiopian comes to BRU with this plane. This plane was also seen at VIE and BUD in the last few months.

Does SN charter bizjets to move around their executives?

Does BA, AF/KL or LH engage in such?

Does Mr O'Leary fly around Europe on a private aircraft?

To me it sounds a bit hard to believe that Ethiopian (from Ethiopia!) would move their airline executives around their netwerk on a private BBJ, even though they may be a profitable airline. I would rather think that they simply fly along with scheduled flights. I could be wrong though.

Hi Established02,

As there are no scheduled pax flights from Ethiopia to Belgium, this isn't an option (except when they take different airlines and some extra stops).

Just wait and see what we get as I also don't have official information on that issue.

Regards, Robin Bamps.

PS: Ethiopia-Belgium wouldn't be any problem for a BBJ.

Goodmorning,
I agree with Established02.
I think it would be ethically a wrong choice of this president not to make use of the regular Ethiopean- flights into Europe. This way he can experience the "real life and work" of his staff. Moreover, by using another airline for a part of his journey, he can learn from other airlines or he can compare with other airlines.
By using a private plane tells a lot about this person towards his staff.

Hello all!

The newspapers indeed are spreading official reports that Ethiopean Cargo
will actually move to BRU. Too bad for OST. Weird, in times that Cargo
airlines are leaving BRU. Aldo i do have to confess that OST have no complaints now they have the SV 74F that use to come to BRU.

Looking forward to see this new ( very rare African airline )at BRU.

Best regards: Yannick
