There was something strange with AA. Today there was at 12H30 a special flight to Chicago AA9219 witch departed at 13H09. This is not a normal flight because today there was also the regular flight AA089 and SN8001 at 10u50 departed at 11H41.
Then I saw a 'new' DHL A300 (TF-ELB, I think). Since when is it flying to BRU? Is it flying for Islandflug? What was it's previous reg?
TF-ELB is maybe making some flights for DHL. A few months ago they allready leased an A300-600 for some flights between Brussels and Bahrein. It could also be that the 757-200PF OO-DLJ (the only one of DHL's fleet that is able to go to Bahrein) is in maintenance or has a technical problem and that TF-ELB is therefore replacing it.
Even if the a300 is payload restricted to BAH, it still can take more than a757. Do not forget that DHL has to take volume as well, rather then weight. I think that for such distances a a300 has better results.
But why is only OO-DLJ able to fly to Barhain and not for example OO-DLP?
OO-DLJ is the only B757-200PF the others are B757-200SF. The PF version has special performances, and is therfore the only version able to fly directly into Bahrein.
The PF has a greater MTOW and bigger fuel tanks.
Since A9C-DHL crashed last year OO-DLJ is the only B757-200PF.
I have picked up some info that a number op G registered DHL aircrafts would be reregistered as OO, so the they will automatically be put in the register.
