Ryanair expected to announce 7 new routes from Belfast International BFS tomorrow, including Brussels.
Brussels will probably start in October, so will not overlap with the brussels airlines Belfast City service planned for this summer.

Re: Ryanair in 2016
Ryanair is not "the dominant carrier" in Brussels. Ryanair is the dominant carrier in Charleroi / at Charleroi Airport. The dominant carrier in Brussels / at Brussels Airport is Brussels Airlines.sn26567 wrote:For the first time, Ryanair published separate figures for its two Belgian bases in 2015:
in BRU, 1.8M pax (+44%)
in CRL, 5.5M pax (+10%)
Ryanair claims to be the dominant carrier in Brussels (BRU + CRL) with a 25% market share.

Brussels Airport will probably end 2015 with 23,4M passengers. Ryanair's 1,8M gives them a 7,7% market share "in Brussels".

Re: Ryanair in 2016
Flights from Belfast International were indeed announced today, but only to Gatwick; 5 other routes are to be studied further and will be announced later:http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-northern-ireland-35244217
The Gatwick flights will operate on slots given up by Aer Lingus / IAG as part of their take over approval.
From today's announcement, it seems they have already dropped one route from their plans even before it got announced (now 6 vs. 7 routes), with the airline blaming the UK Airport Departure Taxes for limiting the opportunities.

Report on The Aviation Herald:Boeing767copilot wrote:Ryanair passengers praise pilot after flight is forced to circle city
Passengers on board a Ryanair flight have praised the pilot after he was forced to reset the wing flaps before the plane landed. The captain of the 12pm FR6674 flight from Knock to Liverpool was forced to circle the UK city while he reset the wing flaps. “The captain was fairly relaxed – it came across the intercom, I thought it was a drill I had my earphones on,” Damian Heslin said, who was sitting at an emergency exit.

Re: Ryanair in 2016
Stockholm-Skavsta airport (at 100 km from the Swedish capital) has been closed for take-off during a few hours this morning. An explosive powder had been found on the bag of a lady travelling on Ryanair flight 7011 to Warsaw Modlin and the bag was removed from the plane.
Three flights have been delayed, but eventually were allowed to depart. And finally it was a false alert. The lady is innocent and she could complete her flight to Warsaw together with the other passengers on board of Ryanair's Boeing 737-800 EI-EKF.

After DUB and STN, BRU will be the first continental base that will receive the new uniform as a "present" for the crew for receiving constant high scores on internal passenger reviews

Re: Ryanair in 2016
Hmm, I dont know if I can comment, cause the info isnt anywhere online. The service will be different Let's keep it at that not just on todays flights btw ... On the route in general.
Re: Ryanair in 2016
Is that "different" service something FR wants to roll out on the entire network for business plus?sean1982 wrote:Hmm, I dont know if I can comment, cause the info isnt anywhere online. The service will be different Let's keep it at that not just on todays flights btw ... On the route in general.
That could become very interesting if they would do so
