gear collapsed, luckily rear mounted engines
According to the picture, the MD-88 seems to have sunk through his landing gear while rolling in the soft grass... I guess they're lucky that it was a MD-88 and not a Boing, Airbus or RJ with wing-mounted engines... could have been more catastrophic.

Here is a topic about the AA89.
Not only the braking blocks needed to be replaced also most of the tires.

I have been on TC-ONP twice (BRU-ADB-BRU), and I have to say that I was extremely disspointed with it's climb performance. In Brussels, it needed the same runway lenght (with maximum thrust) as a fully loaden B747, and the same happened when we took off in ADB.
In comparision: a year later I flew 3 times on an MD82 of AZ, and those climbed like rockets.
Glad that nobody is injured!
Regards
Frederic
