Is this a confirmation of the order they announced some time ago, or an extra order? I believe a confirmation?

It is indeed a confirmation. You know how it works: aircraft manufacturers ask customers to wait until the Show to be able to boast large sales numbers.

Actually, an Extraordinary General Meeting (of the Ryanair shareholders) was convened this morning and gave its agreement to the purchase.

It seems I have forgotten some Embraer aircraft in Day 2:

Air Costa of India acquired two E170s and one E190.

Air Lituanica will start operations with one E170 and one E175 leased directly from an Embraer subsidiary.

Day 3 has started. Weather is as bad as ever. Lightning has struck near the BA A380:

Image
Picture EADS

Leasing company CIT Aerospace has placed an order for 30 Boeing 737 MAX8s. CIT CEO Knittel says the 777X "appears very logical" and the 787-10 is "a natural extension of the family."

Simultaneously, Boeing announced that it shifts the 737 MAX schedule: the first delivery is moved up by 6 months and Southwest will get the first 737 MAX8 in the third quarter of 2017. Boeing early for a change?

Sonaca of Belgium has landed a contract potentially worth one billion dollars for the new E2 of Embraer.

Air France KLM Group has firmed a previously announced contract for 25 A350-900s, plus options for 25 more.

Image

Another push for the A350: SriLankan decides for 6 more A330 and 4 A350 aircraft! Mr. Kapila of SriLankan about the deal: "This will completely modernize our fleet going forward."

Image

And incidentally, the A350 will conduct its second test flight today at 13:30 from Toulouse, weather permitting.

And, on a minor note, Avianca takes delivery today of the first of 15 ATR 72-600s that it commissioned in late 2012.

I think that little plane in the middle of the the foreground (please don't shoot me for not knowing what it is) can easily be stuffed into the cargo hold of the A380 in the background. Without disassembly.

Oman Air orders five Boeing 737-900ER Next Gen aircraft.

Travel Service commits for 3 Boeing 737 MAX8.

HGI Capital Group orders 20 ATR 72-600s for Brazil’s Passaredo Linhas Aéreas, 10 firm and 10 options.

When launching it, sources from within Boeing (though never officially confirmed I believe) already said that they have build in huge margins and unless things go very wrong, they'll deliver early. So now they already shift it "up to 6 months", earlier than I expected, hopefully they can keep this shedule and they don't have to announce a push back again later on as that would seem as a delay while they go back to their initial shedule (which would be a big delay internally though).

After signing for the 787-10, Singapore Airlines just finalised a previously-announced additional order for 30 A350-900s, plus 20 options for -900s or -1000s. This brings the total number of A350s ordered By Singapore to 70 plus 20 options.
