According to the slot request QR will start flying with the 787-800 to BRU start this winter season.
But looking at the QR website it still is with the A330, keeping an eye on it ;)

That would be a slight capacity decrease then.

And a decrease in comfort due to the decrease in seatpitch and seatwidth...

Since I fly business class BKK-BRU 2x/year QR is back on my top 5, J looks good on 787/800
I had a glitch with EY leaving BRU 14 sept, won't fly them again.

Fortunately big windows are increasing overal comfort

Maybe they even bring quite some discomfort since there are quite a few complaints about the electrical dimming which is letting tru sunlight if the sun is shining...

Nearly every C config on the 787 is decent so no complaints there but the unfortunate ones who are riding in the back aren't enjoying increasing comfort despite what Boeing or the airlines may say. Yes, it's great that you have a bit less turbulence, yes it's nice to have the cabin pressure at 6.000ft instead of 8.000ft but it's not nice to have smaller seats and especially quite a bit few shoulderroom... And unfortunately the 777X will go on the same road.

The current 777's are already on that road with the majority of the new build 777's, being fitted with 10-abreast. Boeing tries to improve the comfort a little bit, by decreasing the space between the outer fuselage skin and the cabin interior, allowing a few extra inches or cabin diameter, but of course (as I said in the LH order topic), this limited extra space has to be devided over 10 seats (currently 17,2" going back to 17,4") and two aisles.

A sad development indeed, but with increased competition and pressure to keep the prices low, most airlines don't have another choice than pushing for a lower CASM and increased revenue per flight. Except from some premium focussed airlines. And that's the choice Boeing gives to its customers, not really what the passengers want, but the choice to the airlines to either offer a higher level of comfort or more effeciency.

bmi Regional will cancel its Edinburgh-Brussels route as from 1 January 2014.

Some breathing space for SN's services on the same route!

I hope this enables SN to go 3 daily next summer season, to be competitive on such a route, 3 daily on weekdays should be a must.

16 weekly with E145 (according to airlineroute.net).

BMI will also halt its EDI-ZRH (just 5 weekly) route.

As expected, I'd say.

Without feed at either end and operating the highest CASM platform of both carriers, it was only a matter of time before they were thrown off the route, especially once SN upped EDI to twice daily at the end of March, thus taking away the last advantage BMI held. It took SN just under a year: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... =3&theater

Weird BMI still hold on till end of December, BTW.
I'd expected them to give up with the start of this winter season even.

Jetairfly has decided not to start flying to Ras al-Khaima on 26 October, as announced earlier.

Jetair passengers to the Emirates will be transferred on the Etihad flights to Abu Dhabi.
