I love it! Very beautiful!
Re: New livery/colors for AA - official
I read (mostly on fb) that most people do not like it. I quite like it to be honest. A fresh start for AA with a fresh new and modern livery (although I will miss the reflections of the old alu style livery).

I can't get to see this new livery
The first time I tried the link it crashed my browser and the second time it said "html5: Video file not found".

In my opinion, you're not missing out on anything, Louise.
Although, the livery matches the service now: boring and bland.

First painted 738:

Not bad at all in my opinion. Ok, I liked the previous more, but they are working on a complete new product, new image, new 'feeling', ... they couldn't stick to the old 'paint' anymore. Besides, with the carbonfibre airplanes comming in, they can't stick to the old paint. You already see much more gray painted parts on the 777's and recent 737's (they have a bit more gray paint than the older ones). I imagine giving the 787 (of which they are about to firm a contract for 42 aircraft) the old 'paint' wouldn't be easy/cheap.
Btw, I'm not sure when looking at the picture, but I hope it's metalic grey, at least that gives some extra shining in certain angles.
Edit: better quality: http://www.airliners.net/photo/American ... 2214582/L/

American is about stars and stripes. The stripes are there, but where are the stars?

Where are the stars in the current (or I'd better say 'old' now) paint?sn26567 wrote:American is about stars and stripes. The stripes are there, but where are the stars?

No more stars apparently ...RoMax wrote:Where are the stars in the current (or I'd better say 'old' now) paint?sn26567 wrote:American is about stars and stripes. The stripes are there, but where are the stars?

You must be joking right?cnc wrote:i like it! much better then our shitty hybdrid CO livery
This livery is utterly ugly. One of the most afwul liveries around... It just screams low cost.

i guess you don't like the for example the AF livery either then?Conti764 wrote:You must be joking right?cnc wrote:i like it! much better then our shitty hybdrid CO livery

i'm glad its not a mainstream white fuselage
Re: New livery/colors for AA - official
Not that I don't like the current United paint (tough I prefered the two previous United paint shemes), but I don't think this new AA paint is much worse... I quite like it.Conti764 wrote: You must be joking right?

I share your opinion : the tail looks ugly and cheap (even vulgar, I'm tempted to say).Conti764 wrote:This livery is utterly ugly. One of the most afwul liveries around... It just screams low cost.
I wonder how much AA paid for this....
![Shocked ](./images/smilies/icon_eek.gif)
(unfortunately most airline liveries are dull, anyway)

I had loved to see the new logo as the tail decor. It rocks imo. The blue and red stripes they have now make it look childish too me.

Now I've seen the photo, I have to agree with you. I do prefer the older livery.KriVa wrote:In my opinion, you're not missing out on anything, Louise.

Agree with you. The new logo would have been much better on the tail than the stripes.flightlover wrote: had loved to see the new logo as the tail decor
