Dear old Khun Regi....with always a certificate or diploma ready in the pocket... ...

So, have you send your letter to jambon and bourgeois?

What do you think about the treaturous move of the Flemish Christian Democrat?

I always wonder why they keep the "Christian" when you see them acting...there's nothing Christian in their words or attitude, particularly Kris(t) Peeters!!!

I am not political active because I have no trust in politics, at any level. (I have witnessed in persona the vote buying with 1 M old belgian francs so 1 person would walk over to another party, resulting in an absolute majority in that town. I was the guard of the man with the bag of money )
PM Leterme has used once the expression " it would only cost 5 minutes of political courage" . But he refused afterwards to determine exactly what he meant by it.
Treason in Flanders has existed for a long time. When you look at the history of Flanders you see constantly this treason by the leaders, against the will of the population.
Worst examples are first of all Lodewijk II, who even fought with the French army against his own people. Justice was done when he died during the battle of Crecy, fighting for the same French against the English.
His son Lodewijk Van Male betrayed in the same way his people and sent the French army to subdue the Flemish uprisings. One of the famous French warlords was Enguerrand VII, Lord of Coucy, who enjoyed slaugtering Flemish peasants. His fate would end in the most devasting way, first losing the last "crusade", the battle of Nicopolis, seeing thousands of his robbers in arms being executed, and eventually die in captivity in dreadfull circumstances.
So if there is a god, we might say that he has punished the betrayers: The House of Dampierre vanished after Lodewijk II. And with Enguerrand VII did also die the real last Lord of Coucy.
So far the history lesson :)
I don't believe anymore in so called land slide victories for 1 Flemish party that will at last set the record straight. We lived in the CVP-state. This was crushed by an overwhelming VLD victory who made a government with nothing more unpredictable than the Green Party. The liberal voters were so sick of the betrayel that eventually, they split their votes over LDD, and later to NVA. But I have not 1 second believed that this will improve democracy ( which just means "the people rule" ) Too much honey, too sweet to resist betrayel.

Yes, it is a crazy thing that individuals turn against their own people to try to change society. Typical in all or most of these cases are a hidden personnal frustration, for which they blame society. ( Timothy McVeigh, the Colombine shooting, Van Themsche, Kim Degelder killing infants in a baby care centre )
But it happens all over the world. In Japan they had several cases where men went on a stabbing spree, causing also numerous deadly victims. ( so a very strict gun control won't help as well. But it would have helped if Norway/Europe would have forbidden import of cartridge magazines for a Ruger rifle, able to contain > 5 bullets. Just as California has decided after other shooting incidents with this same rifle )
Sadly enough this person made references to Belgium and even the party of the Dutch politician Wilders.

So according that Marcel Sel person, we can not believe a Twitter message because there are some linguistic mistakes in it, indicating it is written by a non-native French speaker. OK, accepted. Than I would like to ask that specialist how on earth it was possible that in the headline of La Libre Belgique , an article started by "La roi..."
But I assume that this Marcel Sel will feel intimidated by asking this question, just as that local NVA politician felt by the RTBF interview.

All details, and clouding. To avoid the real discussion where it goes about: money.
And to those politicians: Twitter less, work more.
And to that RTBF staff: try less to play a political role by looking for details to condem a political party. ( by some postings on Twitter FGS  ) But perform your role to inform the people.

It's not a question of orthographicals errors, but mainly syntaxicals problems. Obviously, this text hasn"t been written by a french native. Anyway...

O. Maingain has declare that we should talk about "territory limits" around Brussels during negociations. Finally! Let's hope the CD&V will come back to common sense for a well balanced deal... Otherwise prepare to vote.

Coming months shall be interesting.

Vote is our last chance, I'm sure Vlaanderen will get at least 60-65% of Nationalist-Independists vote, then ,things will be clearer to negotiate the divorce!

I hope the excuse will not be...again...we vote Nationalist-Independists because we want reform...

Divorce is not an issue for Flanders. They would loose to much money, as well as credibility within european union.

Anyway, let's wait and see what the octopus and the 'big fat one' will decide for Flanders... I hope for them they'll take the good option: reason...

But this is something that the minority of the country will have to accept: the territory is fixed. What is Flemish territory remains Flanders. It is not because the majority in some communities speaks now another language, that the borders have to be changed. We can speak about the rights that inhabitants have. ( according European legislation ) But the borders are fixed.
So the German speaking territory back to Germany as well ? Ask the inhabitants: they don't want to go back to Germany because they get so much goodies from the current parasite situation.
And will Mangain create Turkish and Morrocan enclaves in the larger cities?

Territory doesn't exist yet. Till now, all the country, from Ostend to Arlon, is still Belgium territory, within which we can found administrative boundary.

Zaventem is, historically speaking, in Brabant. Not in Flanders. It's difficult to admit, but Flanders territory is still a dream.

Maybe soon, but then without Brussels.

Sorry to disappoint you, but the Belgian regions ARE geographically delimited, and those delimitations ARE in the constitution.

That is the main reason we absolutely need to get out of the BHV tangle: as long as we don't, we can't have constitutionally valid elections. Unless we should fix temporary exceptions by law - that can be done indeed, and will soon begin, I believe - but history has shown the horror that can lead to, especially if it is justified as being "the only way to safeguard democracy".

Yes, yes, I know the Belgian constitution is not universally respected - but do you remember the word for NOT respecting it?

Oh, and don't come and remind us of history. Very few people are clamouring for a return to the "glorious" past. Would you? Just for the example: you are right that historically, Zaventem is Brabant territory. But so is Waterlo. And historically, Brabant is Dutch-speaking. As the etimology of "Waterlo" clearly shows. Are you really claiming Waterlo should go back to its historical "Brabancon" status of Dutch-only?

In 1962, regio's were fixed on a very unfair basis. Majority vs minority, no linguistic census (while LOTS of french native speakers where still living in the actual 'flanders' regio,), Brussels landlocked within the brand new flanders regio and, finally, BHV as part of the global "compromise".

No. We are fighting for our rights. I'm a brabançon, and it's my right to speak the language I want. If you really want to speak about history, never forget than romans were here for hundred of years...

Brussels will expand, and if you take your independance, you will pay for it.

You don't have even the choice.

Otherwise, it will be a civilian war. Of course, UN would come soon in that case, and then let's play with international arbitre... And believe it or not, you have a lot to loose.

Yes, man...

Of course "majority vs. minority" would seem unfair to you. Sorry, "very unfair", you said. Yes, yes. Says it all, it really does. Enough, for me, at least.

Vive la Democratie! Vive la Belgique! Vive la Constitution! Vive le Roi et son Femme!

Yes, yes... I agree. I like Belgium, also, but I don't like opportunism and hidden nationalism.

Otherwise: we will bite you, really. Just be aware of that, no more no less.

Cheers ;-)

Can't help thinking there's much more french speaking people in and around Brussels than flemish.

And that's your problem.

Bye , waiting for your tanks

Getting VERY far from the constitution, eh? Who cares where people settle? As long as they behave, of course, in their new self-choosen ambient. That is expected of every migrant. Everywhere.

But don't worry about tanks: for the time being, the military is still a federal matter.
More likely to move UP (i.e., Europe) than DOWN (i.e. regional)
Just like our (hm hm) much-regretted national currency.
