Hi all,

JAF has announced another new long haul destination after Costa Rica. This time it will be a weekly flight to Mombasa and Zanzibar starting from the winter season!!!

In addition JAF will move from Monastir to the brand new airport Enfidha, just North of Monastir.

Indeed new destinations for Jetair after Thomas Cook stopped those destinations two years ago, Martinair was flying for them.

The flight day will be on Sunday but the hours are not known at this moment.

I think next could be Phuket!

The route map starts looking like the old SOBELAIR!

Good job JAF!! Congratulations as the almost only belgian carrier by now! :?

Well, no matter what people say, JAF is doing a terrific job. In it's own segment it's probably the best Belgian airline of the moment.

Off-topic, what are the non revenue travel benefits for JAF staff?

Unlimited standby on the whole JAF network, taxes only?

You have ZED with other airlines?

Thanks

Indeed, Jetairfly is a solid company. Started small and grew year after year. They have now some nice new plane in their fleet. And within some years the B787.

Their financial figures are also good.

Off topic: Thomas Cook Airlines should also have their own long haul fleet. But that's an other story.

Hi,
Terrific job?
It's OUR ONLY ( SN sold to the germans) carrier with a great fleet (except OO-TUC don't start this discussion again!),very nice destinations ( compared with TC)!
So let's be proud of it, we have nothing left..
or maybe .. it's to late tonight !
But for now,VIVA JAF..

luchtvaartnieuws.nl has an article about a second 763ER after the summer for JAF to perform TC flights
are we now talking about the JAP and TUC or the JAP and a new one since JAP should arrive in the summer?

Yes, I would say JAP and TUC for this Summer.

Was wondering myself, my ex-gf still works there as a stewardess if I'm not mistaking, I'll check tonight. Curious if for other airline employees like myself there's a way of travelling standby/cheaper as well.

In fact, Jetairfly will fly the long haul routes of Thomas Cook to the Carribean, Kenya and Zanzibar as of next winter... (In the past Sobelair was also flying for both Neckermann/Thomas Cook and Jetair!)

Indeed André, I saw it olso today on Luchtvaartnieuws.nl. Those "new" destinations are not for Jetair but Thomas Cook. Thomas Cook is just flying back again to Kenya and Zanzibar and is now using Jetairfly iso Martinair or XL Airways.

That reminds me about a topic we had about both companies and were I had said that both companies helping each other from time to time. This is again a nice example.

Good work!

Another example of cooperation involving Jetairfly: Jetairfly will introduce a weekly seasonal route between Toulon and Ajaccio from July 4 to August 29: the service will be operated by Brussels Airlines with a RJ-85...

I read in the InfoTravel newsletter (for travel agents) that Jetair and VIP Selection will introduce Mombasa and Zanzibar (beach, safari, combined tours) as from the beginning of the next winter season. Seems that Jetairfly will operate this new line for Jetair and VIP Selection on one hand and for the Thomas Cook touroperators on the other hand.

Hence this looks like double good news :
* restarting Brussels-Zanzibar-Mombasa
* more touroperators, hence more competition, hence better prices ;-)

In the Mombasa/Zanzibar flights the cockpit crew will be Jetairfly and the cabin crew will be shared between Jetairfly and Thomas Cook Airlines.
