GE Capital Aviation Services, the world’s biggest aircraft leasing company, has only 6 of its 1,161 aircraft grounded. And this despite the fact that three of its top five airline customers have declared bankruptcy (US Airways, United Airlines and Air Canada and fourth (American Airlines) could enter declare bankruptcy. Those four carriers accounted for 6.6 billion USD of Gecas’ 28.7 billion USD portfolio at the end of December 2002.
