Goodafternoon,
For spotting departing aircraft from 25R, the best spot is the small parkinglot next to Abelag.

Well... in the street of Abelag it is forbidden to park your car. Perhaps your were there with your car? The best thing you can do it you realy want to stand there (for a very long time) is park your car in a street next to the Vilvoordelaan. YES, that is a long walk, YES that might not be funny and YES it will take some time, but the police can't forbid pedestrians walking on the pavement do they? It can work when it is dry   .

Another spot could the cargohill.... Planes like K4 you can catch quiet good as they need a long run sometimes.

I hope this can help you.

grtz,
Simon
If you can count the blades of my engines while they work, you are too close to be save

When standing at the North side of the airport (Cargo hill, Melsbroek Football field, next to Lufthansa technics) you will have bad light all the time this time of the year. Only in the evenings light is ok for the cargo hill. The parking spot next to GA, on the bridge further down the road or the big parking lot behind the old Sobelair building are the best during the day.

Last time I parked my car next to the Brussels Mortuary. You can get some nice bellyview pictures from the smaller planes and if they bank north, it's even better. Just in front of the fence, there are big concrete blocks, on which you can stand and take pictures over the fence.

And if you are lucky, some cargo planes might pass really close to you when they go from the cargostands to the beginning of 25R.

The light is also nice when standing there. On the cragohill on the other hand you have the sun in front of you during most of the day.

I've never had problems there, only one time during an EU top, the police told us to stand 10 meters from the fence.
