Only things I know: it's a Russian plane from around 1932 and it did testflights before it crashed.

You are correct! a better picture shows more detail, I believe that its a ANT-20bis a derivative model.

Looks like CGI to me too, though its configuration seems to be based on the Kalinin K-7. As far as I know, all Tupolev aircraft from that era (1930's) were taildraggers, which rules them out.
